I finished pissing and shook off my dick before tucking myself back into my sweatpants. “You want to shower with me? As much as I want to drop to my knees for you, I think your dick could probably use a good rinsing before I do that.”

Bennett chuckled and wrapped an arm around my waist as he pulled me to him and buried his face in my neck. “Yes. I should go to the garage today since your heat is over.”

“That’s fine. I’ll call Ally and see when she wants me back at work too. I’m sure whoever’s been covering for me would gladly accept a night off tonight if I offered.”

Bennett pushed my sweatpants down and I stepped out of them. He walked us toward the shower as he pulled down and kicked off his own pants. He pushed me under the water and grabbed both of our dicks in his hand. “As much as I want your mouth on me, I just need to get off with you again before we separate for the day.”

I moaned as he jerked us off, pressing me against the back of the shower. “Yeah, not going to say no, babe.”

I rested my head against the shower wall and pumped my hips into his fist as he worked us both over. We moved against each other, grunts and moans filling the bathroom as Bennett fused his lips to mine, our tongues tangled and we devoured each other as if we hadn’t spent the last three days doing mostly this.

“Bennett,” I cried out as my release slammed into me. He thrust against me again and groaned through his orgasm. We took deep breaths, coming down from the high together. Our come dripping from his hand, he collapsed against me and kissed my neck, scent marking me.

He rubbed his nose over my bite mark. “I want you to be mine one day,” he whispered.

“I want that too,” I admitted, surprising even myself at how easily the truth spilled out of me.

Apparently, the last few days have shown me what a partnership between two people who genuinely care about each other can feel like. I want so much more of that with him.

Bennett took his time washing both of us, and when we stepped out of the shower, Marley circled our feet, meowing for breakfast. Bennett wrapped a towel around his waist, bent down to pet her, and she hissed at him.

“Do you know who has kept you fed for the last three days?” he asked before looking up at me. “She hates me. That night I was making you soup she kept hissing at me in the kitchen, then going to the window in the living room and hissing, then coming back to me and hissing. I was pretty sure she was trying to get me to leave. She might have even been trying to suggest that I jump out the window.”

I laughed, reaching for a towel. “She really doesn’t like alphas. I’m sure she’ll get used to you.”

We got dressed, and Bennett made us coffee and cereal while I fed Marley. We ate together, smiling at each other the entire time. It was obvious that the last three days had changed something between us. Wherever we were headed as a couple, we’d just accelerated that journey. Interestingly, the thought didn’t scare me nearly as much as I’d expected it too. I’d heard others discuss how intimate it was to share a heat with someone you trusted, but I still hadn’t expected the enhanced connection that I now felt with Bennett as a result of the experience.

Bennett cleared away our bowls before kissing me goodbye. “I’ll walk you out,” I said.

“Let me know if you pick up a shift tonight and I’ll swing by the bar after work,” Bennett said.

“Don’t you go there every night?” I asked, looping my arms around him as I walked him toward the door.

He smiled, walking backward as I pushed the door open for him. “Well now I’d rather spend your nights off with you.”

“As your boyfriend, I think I like that idea.”

His grin was so bright, I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why Ally called him grumpy. “Uh, babe,” I said, pointing to his truck as we stepped outside. “Your tire is flat.”

“What the hell?” he asked, turning around. He jogged over to the truck and looked at each of his tires, shaking his head as he inspected the deflated one. “Fuck.”

“Can you tell what happened?” I asked, rubbing my arms in the doorway.

“There’s a piece of broken glass in it.” He sighed. “I’ve got a spare in the back that I can throw on until I get it back to the garage.”

“I’ll go get my sweatshirt,” I said.

“Why?”

I chuckled. “Because if you’re going to work on your truck, I’m going to watch that show. Maybe I’ll see if I can find a folding chair and get another cup of coffee too.”

Bennett snorted. “Based on the arousal I can smell right now, I’m starting to wonder if you keep making car issues just to watch me fix them.”

“A smarter man would have thought of that,” I called over my shoulder as I went back inside

Maybe I should make popcorn too.
