Recognizing this gesture, his eyes widened.

Not moving, I said, “Weatherman.”

A pointed gun shifted to Onus’ head.

“What the fuck?” growled Piercer as he pointed his weapon at Weatherman, causing other Titans to do the same.

Like a moth to the flame…

Onus was not so easily fooled. He didn’t move. Like Diesel, his wisdom turned over in his mind, trying to understand where he had gone wrong.

Where he had fucked up was shunning some Titans and Weatherman from club dealings. It gave me alone time with them. It paved the way for me to learn I wasn’t the only one working with an agent.

Arms still wide, I gave Onus a Hellion smile and repeated the words, “Who’s next?”

Onus jolted.

He’d been so focused on me, so entertained with Hellion’s wild ways—right where I wanted him to be—that he missed the connections I was making behind his back.

I said, “Tabi.”

Her arms dropped and she raised her hands, and the gun in them, to Piercer’s head.

Piercer, panicking because he was clueless as to who had untied her, and when, and given her a gun, now pointed his gun at Tabi.

Onus still didn’t move, his dark wisdom telling him I wasn’t done. He now peered around looking for my two friends. If they weren’t with me, they were doing their best to help me.

I let my arms come down. “Chubs. Roam.”

They both stepped out of the darkness of some trees… with a group of Steel Stallions, all pointing guns at Titans, who, now even more baffled, began readjusting their stances and moving their aim in so many directions it was like watching a tall ant hill crumble from the inside out.

Piercer fumed at his son, in Spanish, “You fucking traitor! You were giving us information about him! Right in front of him!”

Roam grinned. “Yes, I did, but there is something you should know.”

I smirked. “Anita Semloh taught her little boy to speak Spanish. I’ve been listening to your every word.”

Onus’ jaw dropped.

I shrugged. “You should’ve listened to your mother when she tried to warn you about me.” I looked to the agent I would never forget. “Tabs.”

Gun aimed, she backed away, toward me.

Then, in an eerie calm, I said, “Weatherman, it’s time.”

Weatherman, the brother of Onus’ father, who had helped take down the leader of the Fallen Gods because he believed Onus would be a better man than his successor, kept his gun pointed as he backed away from the group to join me.

Just then, three more Titans shifted their aim to other Titans, then backed away, following Weatherman.

I dipped my chin to Onus, who still had his gun aimed at me. “Here’s your chance, Dad. Kill me, once and for all, or kneel.”

Silence lingered… Titans were grossly outnumbered and too cowardly to die fighting.

Nostrils flaring… Onus lowered his gun and knelt. His remaining men followed, tossing their guns.

Piercer refused. He was standing, enraged. He lifted his gun to kill me.

So many bullets rang out it felt like we had gone to war, but only one man was on the receiving end of those bullets. Piercer jerked, jolted, and twitched as metal ricocheted inside his body.
