Was my life going to make sense? Was this the moment of an epiphany?

That depends on how you view things.

Heart pounding, I asked, “What is the reason?”

Diesel had a gift of seeing things simply, and complicatedly. “You’re alive.”

Dio jolted.

“What is it?” I asked whoever was willing to answer.

Dio covered his mouth. “I searched so long…”

Diesel smirked. “You didn’t think to ask why.”

“Why what?” I asked, impatiently.

Diesel sat back in his chair. “Why Onus hasn’t killed you. Why does he bother keeping you alive? He knows he’s not your father.” Bewildered, he shook his head. “You’re a threat, in all kinds of ways us bikers don’t like, yet you breathe.”

My ears thrummed…

“See?” Diesel smirked. “And that is the only reason I’m letting you leave this rally with the Titans.”

“Hey,” I complained, “you said I had a choice.”

“You shouldn’t trust bikers.” He winked.

Dio burst into laughter. “I’ve said the same.”

The smile on my face? Damn, it felt good.

Five clubs. Five clubs were involved with one boy’s life. It was clear that I was meant to be a biker. What wasn’t clear was why Chubs was so shocked we were returning to the Titans.

Passing booths that were shutting down, my upper lip lifted in disgust as I whispered, “Did you not just hear me? There are girls to be saved.”

His annoyance was, well, fucking annoying.

His reply? Downright shitty.

“I know.”

Already twitchy to activate the new army of killers at my fingertips, I stopped. “What did you just say?”

Roam recoiled, as if sensing Chubs was going to break his huge heart.

If I didn’t know Chubs better, I would’ve said he was being rude as he groaned, “I know, because I’ve seen them.”

I punched him. Right on the chin. “You sonofabitch.” Then stormed toward the Titan camping area.

Entering our tent compound, Onus slurred, “Yur sure not smilin’ like I tot you’d be.”

“Fuck off.”

Bahahahahah… laughed the drunks—the ones still standing, that is.

Piercer slurred, “Wha’s da big bab-y cryin’ fer now?”
