“You’re teasing me on purpose, aren’t you?”
“Maybe,” he laughed. “But I’m hungry, and you,” he lifted the syrup pitcher, and leaned in to her, “are about to become breakfast.”
“Are you saying you’re not going to show me?”
“I’m saying you’re going to learn patience. Discipline.”
“I’m over a hundred years old. I don’t think I need to learn anything about that.”
“Lie back,” he told her, his voice firm.
“What? How am I supposed to eat? I can’t…” she protested, but Jake interrupted her.
“Back,” he repeated, his intense eyes pinned on hers.
“Um…okay…but I still think…”
“Shh.” He held his fingers to his curled lips, raising an eyebrow that told her she’d better listen.
Kai lay back onto the pillow, her breasts exposed. She gasped as he snatched the corner of the sheets and uncovered her.
“What are you doing?” she laughed.
“Preparing breakfast.”
“Breakfast, huh?” her eyes locked on his.
“You know I really do like steak.” Jake sawed off a piece of meat and held it in the air. He dangled it over her parted mouth. “It’s juicy. Salty.” He gently fed her, smiling as she accepted it.
Her gaze heated as he popped a piece into his mouth. Jake smiled, set down the fork, and dipped his finger into the syrup, and her heart sped as he teased the sweet delight over her lower lip. Her tongue darted out, lapping at the tip. Sucking it into her mouth, she moaned, still keeping her focus on her Alpha. She released him, a slow sensual smile forming on her face.
“You see, salty, well, that’s good.” Jake stabbed another piece of steak and fed it to her. “But I have a sweet tooth.”
Kai watched intently as he lifted the small pitcher and held it over her body. His focus went to her breast and back up to her eyes as he dripped the warm sticky substance onto her nipple. He set it down and dipped his head to her skin.
“This,” his talented tongue brushed over her taut peak, eliciting a moan, “is one of my favorite things.”
Kai sighed as he licked her, sending a spike of arousal between her legs. She reached for him, but he retreated, her fingers slipping through his hair.
“What are we doing?” she asked.
“We’re eating breakfast, sweetheart.” He laughed.
“You like games, don’t you?”
“Me?” He shrugged, stabbing his fork into the pancake. “I like to play. I like spontaneity. It makes life interesting. Take this meal, for example. We could sit and eat properly. But this,” Jake gave a wicked grin, and dragged the flaky cake along her lip, “is an exercise in control. Restraint. A deliberate training in delayed gratification.”
“I…I …you’re teasing me.”
“You know what I love about this hotel?” Jake placed the utensil delicately into her mouth.
“Hmm.” Kai’s eyes painted over his muscular form. “Um, what?”
“The clientele that frequents it.”
“You’ve stayed here before?” Kai asked, attempting to hide the green monster that hadn’t quite died.
“No, never have. But I did my research.”
