I cup her face and deepen the kiss.
Her hands settle on my waist, and she tilts her head, giving me better access. I take it as a sign she wants more, and the kiss grows hotter.
Soon I’m breaking free to breathe, both our lungs sucking in air.
Pressing my forehead to hers, I stare into the depths of her heavy-lidded gaze. “Stay tonight. Please.”
She nods, and we kiss again.
Before long, I’m claiming her hand and leading her through to the bedroom. We go at it, ripping each other’s clothes, frantic to get our hands and mouths on naked flesh.
A voice in my head warns me to slow down, to savor every second, but I can’t rein in my passion to have this woman.
I want her more than I’ve wanted anyone in a long time.
No, it’s more than wanting her. I need her. Desperately.
There’s been a hole in my soul, aching for something that’s been missing for so long. Taylor. She’s my missing piece. The one that fits perfectly to complete me.
Why the hell was I such a fool all those years ago?
Why the hell did I let her brother come between us?
As if to remind me, she shoves the cut off my shoulders, and I catch it before it hits the floor, hanging it on the back of a chair in the corner. My eyes land on my patch.
The club.
It’s the choice I made that drove us apart.
Now I want both. The club and Taylor.
And I’ll be damned if anything is going to keep me from having them.
Chapter eleven
Taylor
Player slows things down, like something in him has shifted. He touches my hair, and his eyes move over it. “Still as long as it used to be.”
“Close.”
“You always had such gorgeous hair. Thick and silky.” His eyes drop to mine. “You gonna let me have you, Taylor?”
I cup his face and pull his mouth to mine, whispering just before his lips land on mine. “What do you think?” Then I show him the answer with my kiss.
After long minutes of kissing and clinging to each other, he lifts his mouth an inch and whispers, “I’ve missed you, Tay.”
“I’ve missed you, too. So much.”
It’s been years since I’ve been with this man. There’s so much I want to know. I wonder what he’s been doing all this time. Has there been anyone since Debbie? Has he been in love again? Has he knocked any girl up? Maybe he’s a father. There’s so much I don’t know. He’s been in the club for years now. Has it changed him, or is he still the same man I fell in love with?
He tilts my face to his with a finger under my chin. Perhaps he can see all those things I’m wondering about in my eyes. He shakes his head. “No questions tonight. We can get to all that tomorrow, I promise. Tonight… tonight I just want to feel and remember everything we had.”
“And find out if it’s still there?” I whisper.
“I already know the answer, at least for me. It’s still there, hell, I don’t think it ever left me.”
His mouth lowers to mine, and he pulls me to his hard body. I melt against him, feeling safe, protected, and treasured. His touch is gentle but firm. Finally, he lifts his head to stare into my eyes. “Let me in, Taylor.”
