“That’s another thing, Jack.” Robert straightens and shifts his gaze back to his son. “You need more sleep. I’ve seen the amount of energy drinks you binge, and it’s not healthy. Don’t make me give you a lights out curfew.”
Jack smirks. “Like that would work, but I appreciate your concern. I’ll try to do better.”
Robert nods and after a second, he turns to me. “I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable. Lucy is at an age that she’s asking a lot of questions, and while we have healthy discussions about sex with our children, we don’t want her to be exposed to anything that could cause her stress.”
I nod. “I wouldn’t want to do that.”
“Good.” He blows out a breath and looks at his watch. “How’d the carnival go?”
Jack smiles and tells his dad about the announcement and then walking around. We went on a few rides. Luke bought me some cotton candy even though I protested I was too full from dinner.
Caden was my constant shadow, always having my back. Eli walked beside me, holding my hand.
It was nice and the guys showed me a little of what we could be if we ever get to that date I promised Nico. Nico’s absence was the only thing missing in the evening. But when we got to Caden’s, he video-chatted with us and filled us in on what Ashley learned.
She got a little more info than I did, but overall, tonight wasn’t anything new. Except they might use the guys’ distraction at the game to their benefit. Jack said he’d have Coach Turner watch my back.
“Okay, you two should head off to bed.” Robert stands and brushes his hands off on his jeans. “Just keep it down and remember to lock your door.”
The heat that had dissipated from my cheeks burst to flames again. The assumption that we’ll have sex isn’t wrong, but it’s new to me to have other parents talking to me about it.
Jack takes my hand. He stops at the fridge and grabs a couple bottles of water before leading me to his bedroom. When he turns on the lamp, Eli steps out of the shadows.
My heart tries to escape my chest until I recognize him. I release a shaky laugh. “Maybe less creeping in the near future?”
Jack locks the door and smirks. “He’s just getting your heart going.”
He did do that.
“Sorry, Dad wanted to lay down the law.” Jack sits on the edge of the bed and draws me down next to him. He puts his arm around my shoulder. The crisp scent of apples floods my senses as I snuggle into his side and release all the pent-up energy from the day.
This is where the outside world can’t touch me. Where I’m safe to give up my control to these men and let them do what they want with me. A little shiver rushes through my blood.
Eli grabs Jack’s desk chair and sets it in front of us before lowering himself to sit on it. His gaze takes in me and Jack, like he’s trying to piece together a puzzle.
“What we do together isn’t for public consumption, kitten.” Eli leans forward and puts his elbows on his knees. “It’s just for the three of us. Do you understand?”
My heart stutters in my chest. “So, I can’t tell Luke, Caden, or Nico?”
That’s not really part of the deal. We’re open and honest with each other.
Eli tips my chin up and shakes his head. “They can know some parts, but they won’t understand some of it.”
Shivers run down my spine. “What are we going to do?”
His dark eyes search mine as his slow smile spreads. “I’m in charge tonight, kitten. Of both of you. Jack likes to give up control sometimes too.”
Okay, I’m confused. “Meaning you’ll give both of us commands.”
“Meaning I’m in charge, and you both do what I say.” He leans back in his chair and smirks. “Don’t think too much of it, kitten. It doesn’t change any of our normal dynamics. It’s just sometimes we take our play a little further than the others might be comfortable with.”
I glance at Jack. I don’t know what this will be like, but I’m willing to learn more about Jack and Eli.
“You have a safe word and if anything is uncomfortable, you can say yellow for us to pause.” Jack traces my jaw with his fingers.
I swallow as desire builds inside me. Whatever they’re going to do, I’m on board.
“Are you ready to push your limits, kitten?”
