“What!” Both Clover and Iva yelled at the same time.

By then, Trent was back up on his feet while the two men who broke up the fight stood in front of him.

Amina felt lightheaded as she looked over at the man who made her life a living hell at one time. Trent was mentally unstable, but she found that out too late. Her parents tried to talk his parents when things went left with them but that didn’t do any good. His father was apologetic and offered to help any way he could. His mother was a bitch who would rather take his side before getting him help.

Even getting a restraining order on him was a waste because he still came around. He kept telling Amina that she was gonna be his wife one day and telling him no seemed to be a trigger. His mood changed so fast that it seemed to scare him just as much. Eventually, she had him arrested for violating the protective order and that seemed to do the trick. She still saw him around occasionally but she couldn’t help if they were at the same place at the same time.

Trent was shocked when he saw and heard what was going on. He’d seen Amina in passing multiple times but he didn’t remember ever seeing her with Clover. He was curious as to how they even knew each other. Amina was the one who’d introduced him to the restaurant that they were in. He loved the food and desserts so he decided to stop in for lunch after his workout. He didn’t expect to get beat down yet again but, thankfully, it wasn’t like before. They got in a few good licks, but it was over just as quickly as it started. Now, he wanted Clover to suffer more than ever.

“My stomach hurts.” Amina grabbed the bottom of her stomach and held on to the table.

“Shit, I’m going get the car.” Iva wasted no time running out of the restaurant in the direction of where her car was parked.

“Do you need an ambulance?” The waitress walked over with a concerned look on her face.

“No, call my husband.” Amina’s face twisted in pain, as Clover called her husband. She heard the panic in Fonzo’s voice once Clover told him what was going on.

“Just meet us at the hospital. Iva went to get the car. Make sure you call Hank and Diva to let them know what’s up,” Clover talked calmly, hoping to calm Fonzo down too. He was in full panic mode, but she understood. She also understood why he preferred his wife to stay close to him.

“There go Iva!” Irie yelled when she saw her sister pull up.

“Can you walk, sis?” Clover asked as she grabbed Amina by the arm.

“Yeah, I’m good. My stomach is just cramping.”

Amina slowly made her way outside and to the car. Trent watched as both his exes and the two other women hopped into the car and sped away. He was so angry that he didn’t even have an appetite anymore. The only thing on his mind was murder and the bullseye was on Clover’s back.

“Can I hold her, Grammy?” Kardi asked as she smiled at her new baby cousin.

“You sure can, beautiful. Sanitize your hands and come sit down.” Diva got up so that Kardi could sit in the chair.

She was overjoyed to have witnessed the birth of her second grandchild. Amina’s mother cried the entire time, but she understood. She was overly emotional when Kardi was born too. She couldn’t wait until Alexus got bigger so that she could spoil her just as much.

“Aww, that’s so sweet. Smile, Kardi,” Amina’s mother said and she pulled out her costly professional camera.

Her parents must have taken over one hundred pictures since the baby was born the night before. It was almost midnight when Amina gave birth so she was fast asleep as soon as she got to her room. They were all up there with gifts bright and early the next morning.

Fonzo’s eye lit up every time he saw his baby girl but he seemed to be preoccupied. Something was up, but Diva didn’t know what. She was happy that Amina was preoccupied because Fonzo was in another world. He and his brothers were huddled up in the corner talking amongst themselves. She made her way over to Clover to see what she knew.

“What the hell is going on?” Diva whispered while taking a seat next to Clover.

“Nothing much.” Clover shrugged like it was no big deal.

“Bitch, did you forget who raised you and them three niggas? I know y’all and something is up.”

Clover sighed, knowing that Diva wasn’t gonna rest until she told her what was up. “Long story short, the ex that Amina told us about is Trent.”

“I know you muthafucking lying to me!” Not much surprised Diva anymore but she was in complete shock. Amina never uttered his name but she talked about him like he was the big bad wolf.

“I wish I was.”

Clover took a few minutes and ran the entire story down to her. She was just as shocked as Diva but she was also grateful. Amina was actually in a relationship with Trent’s nutty ass and she seemed to have been scarred by all the changes he took her through. Clover wasn’t even gonna tell anybody until after Amina and the baby got home. She didn’t want to ruin her happiness, but Iva had a big ass mouth. She told Monty and the rest was history.

“Send me that video,” Diva demanded.

“For what?”

Clover didn’t know why she asked because she already knew. Diva didn’t want her to give Trudy a pass in the first place. Now that she felt like she didn’t hold up her end of the deal, she was going down right with her son.
