His fingers push in hard, and his mouth sucks with a firmness that almost hurts, but as he does it, my entire body explodes.

My core clenches as my body trembles, and my head is a cloud. I shake as the trembles run through me, and it’s the most blissful, heavenly feeling.

I come hard and long. His mouth never ceases, licking and sucking and drinking me in. His back and shoulders relax under my legs as he appears satisfied by his performance. My breath is palpable as I come down from my high.

Nic rises to his feet. His thumb wipes the moisture from his lips, leaving that grin that I love in its wake.

“Are you satisfied?”

“You’re a wild man,” I hum as he slides my underwear back up my body.

He takes my head in his hands and pulls me in for a kiss. I can taste myself on his mouth, and it’s as sinfully dirty a sensation as when he was down on his knees a moment ago.

“What are you doing tonight?” he asks as I fix my shirt.

“I have plans with Marie. She’s having a get-together.” I glance down at the floor and bite my lip, looking up through fluttering lashes. “Do you want to come?”

He bows down to catch my eyes with his and smiles. “Of course I want to come,” he says, and now, I don’t know if he’s being serious or dirty. My scowl makes him laugh as he explains, “Yes, I want to come to Marie’s house. And after, I want to come inside of you.”

I roll my eyes and laugh.

That’s the Nic I love.

Shit … wait. What?

“Okay. Enough of you. I have work to do.” I shoo him toward the door. My hands are on his back, playfully pushing him as he grabs the handle.

“One orgasm, and she’s through with me. I see how it is.” His joke is said as he swings the door open.

I’m laughing yet stop when I see the face of the man on the other side of the door. Tom is looking at Nic and me as we carry on. His presence has me instantly straightening up and adjusting my attitude like a teenager who just got caught necking with her boyfriend in her bedroom.

Nic doesn’t seem to find Tom’s rigid glare to be anything of concern. Instead, he holds up a fist and looks for a pound. “Hey, man. Good to see you again.”

Tom slides his hands in his pockets and nods his chin. “You two on your way out?”

“No. She’s kicking me out. But I’ll see you tonight.” Nic turns around and kisses me.

It takes me a moment to catch my breath. “Yeah. I was just walking him out. Be right back.” I maneuver Nic away from my partner and toward the elevators. “Now, you just need to behave on your way down to the lobby.”

“I can’t make any promises.” The elevator opens, and he steps inside. “See you tonight.”

I watch as the doors close, taking my handsome Mexican lover downstairs. My face is ignited with a smile that hurts my cheeks as I walk back to my office. The day has certainly taken me by surprise. And there’s still more to come.

“Oh. Hi, Tom. You’re still here?”

Tom is standing outside my office with his hands still in his pockets, a look of disappointment on his face.

“Evette, you and I have worked together for a while now. You know I only have the utmost respect for you, and I think highly of your character.”

“I feel a but coming,” I state cautiously.

“But,” he starts, “I’m not sure what just went on in your office, but I can tell you that from out here, it sounded an awful lot like something that could get you fired.”

The whoosh of happiness gets sucked from my body, and now, I’m stone-cold panicked. “Tom, I—”

“Listen, I don’t want to know anything that might make this awkward. All I’m gonna say is, this is not like you. This guy, he’s the one from the concert a few weeks ago, right? The one you abandoned your job for to party with? I thought that was unlike you, but you deserved some fun. And you do. But this guy? He’s trouble.”

I cross my arms as I contemplate his words. “Who I date isn’t your business.”

“It’s not.” He takes a step back and releases his hands. “I just don’t want to see you give up all you’ve worked for.”

“I won’t.”

My lips are smashed as I watch him walk down the hall, and I close my office door. This day has certainly taken a turn I wasn’t expecting. From low to high and back to low. I just don’t know what to do.

Yet as I stare at my desk and think of the moment I just shared with Nic, I know it can’t happen again. Not at my job at least.

See, this is why bad boys and I don’t mix well.

I have zero control over my behavior.
