She looked down, her eyes going wide at what was evidently his hard length now straining against his trews. “We were just sleeping!” she hissed, much quieter this time. “How can ye possibly have that when we are sleeping!”

“Ye are in me bed, Kyven,” he snapped and pulled himself out of the bed with the bedpost, swinging himself away and trying to get as far away from her as possible. “In case ye had nae noticed, I am a man, and ye are a woman. Ye are sleeping barely wearing a single stitch in me bed, yer damned perfect body against mine.” He ran toward a basin of water at the side of the room. It was cold, perhaps cold enough to throw over his head and staunch heated thoughts.

He glanced back, in time to see Kyven flinch at his words.

“What dae ye expect of me?” he said, making every matter now plain between them. “Me body cannot ignore the fact that ye drive me mad with desire. I have imagined making love tae ye so many times in that very bed that it’s pure torture.”

She looked stunned to see him speaking so much. He hardly ever spoke that much.

He looked away, down at the basin of cold water. He reached in and splashed his face, doing his best to think of the cold and nothing else.

“Ye never said anything,” she whispered from the bed, suddenly moving to the edge, for he could hear her move, tangling the bed clothes with her. “Ye’ve had so many opportunities tae tell me, and ye never did.”

“What dae ye think all our flirtation has been about? Hmm?” he barked, then plunged his face into the cold water, blowing bubbles in it. The shock of the cold was doing nothing to soften his length. It was still rock hard, for his mind was full of Kyven on his bed, barely wearing anything. He pulled his head back out of the water, spluttering then wiping his face on a towel. “Any man would have tae be blind nae tae be seduced by one look.” He didn’t look at her at these words.

Now he’d revealed everything, he thought she might run. Had she not trusted him enough to be vulnerable and sleep beside him? Completely! That trust was surely broken now she had felt how much he desired her.

“Ye can run back tae yer chamber.” He waved a hand at the door.

Yet she didn’t move. There were no sounds of bedclothes rustling, nor of her quickened breath as she escaped. She stayed perfectly still on the bed.

He looked down, cursing his still-hard length. He adjusted his trews as best as he could, then turned back to face her, wondering why she still hadn’t escaped him. Kyven was biting her lip, staring at him with a deep red blush that made her freckles all the more noticeable.

“Ye are still here,” he observed, his voice hoarse.

“I dinnae wish tae go anywhere.” Her gaze shot down to his length again.

That look snapped his resolve.

He tossed the towel aside and marched across the room toward her. She veered forward on the bed, intently wanting him too.

Have I been such a fool!?

He shouted the thought in his own mind as he caught hold of her, one hand on her waist, the other around the back of her neck as he pulled her to him for a kiss. She knelt up on the bed as he stood beside it, their lips crashing together in a collision that had been a long time coming.

She tasted perfect, sweeter than honey on his tongue. There were no small and gentle kisses, despite the fact he’d told himself that if he was ever so fortunate as to kiss Kyven, he would be gentle. It was fierce and full of need.

He parted her lips, taking her tongue with his own and tangling them together.

Her hands gripped him tight, holding onto his muscled biceps, his shoulders, then wandering down his chest and exploring him. The quick movements of her hands made him groan into her kiss, desiring more of her touch.

“Kyven,” he whispered, pulling back momentarily from their kiss. “Dinnae stop that,” he begged her. Her lips were swollen pink already, such flashing excitement in her eyes that he kissed her again, bending her back across the bed.

Her hands continued to explore. They went to his hair, where she pulled playfully on the lengths, then down across his neck and collarbone, down the middle of his chest and his stomach, as he braced himself over her, bearing all his weight on just one hand, as he used the other to keep her neck arched up into him, maintaining the kiss for as long as he could.

Her touch was like fire. It ignited something in him he hadn’t known existed. When he’d shared himself with Elisa years ago, everything had been tentative their first time, but this was far from tentative. It was passionate.

Kyven tugged him onto the bed with her and he scrambled over her, the two of them ending up with their bodies flattened together. His length was so hard now that it ached for the sensation of some pleasure. He pressed his length into her hip as one of her legs lifted around his thigh. She moaned into his kiss, allowing him to swallow the sound between them.

She was so petite, so little compared to him, that he feared hurting her. He shifted his weight, trying to brace it all on his elbows, but she simply wrapped her arms around him and pulled him down to her again. He could feel her breasts flattened to his chest through the cover of her chemise, as also the curve of her waist and her hips.

He bucked his hips to hers, creating such a friction that she moaned again.

He released her lips. Now that he had tasted her, he could not just stop with that kiss. He made his way down her neck, kissing every inch of her and finding a sweet spot at the base of her neck that made her moan louder this time.

“Why did ye never say?” she was pleading into the darkness around them, her hands exploring his shoulder blades and his back now. “Oh, ye dinnae ken how I have wanted tae hear this, tae feel… oh.” She broke off, whining with a particular kind of pleasure as his hand reached for her breast through the cover of her chemise and cupped her.

He had no words. He was wondering himself why he hadn’t just spoken plainly when clearly, they had both been wanting the same thing.
