His shaft was slick with her juices, sliding in and out smoothly. He made languid love to her, allowing her to explore him with her tongue, and her fingers.

Pulling away from her, he picked up the tray of food and placed it on the bed. Taking a few grapes from the platter he made her sit on the chest, back resting against pillows, and spread her legs.

Elspeth watched fascinated as he pushed one, then two, then the third grape between the folds of her. Biting on the back of her hand, she suppressed the moan of ecstasy when Bruce held her by the ankles, lifted them to rest upon his broad shoulders and bent to pay her his full attention.

His tongue was magic, rooting inside her while his thumbs pressed and flicked the taut nub making her legs shake. After he had found and consumed of two grapes, he pulled the third one out and offered it to her from his mouth. Elspeth pulled him closer by the hair and slid her tongue inside his mouth. The grape burst against his teeth, and she tasted its tart sweetness along with a unique salty sweet musk that she realized was her.

Driven to new heights of pleasure she guided his iron-hard shaft inside her, let him thrust deep and long, then pulled away and licked the honeyed juices that coated him. Bruce held the bed posts as she sat up straight low on his chest and fulfilled her passion. The more she ran her wet tongue up and down his rigid arousal, the more sodden she became, her thighs slick with proof of her desire.

Bruce pinched one of her breasts, pulling teasingly on her rock-hard nipple causing Elspeth to moan deeply. Her climax was near, but she had not yet had enough of him in her mouth. Bruce must have sensed her need because he gently caressed her cheek and picking her up, slammed her against the wall next to the window.

Elspeth tightened her legs around his hips, her hands held tight onto the wall and his shoulder for support as he thrust harder and faster inside her gushing core until she was biting her lips to ribbons as not to scream out with pleasure. Bruce grimaced and she felt heat that wasn’t her own flood inside her.

Passions realized, they lay on the sheets on the floor, panting in each other’s arms.

The night was spent partaking of carnal pleasures, their limbs protesting how separate they were for far too long. Even when they stopped to eat from the tray Gwen had especially prepared for them, they fed each other with thighs touching, Elspeth cocooned in Bruce’s lap.

Dawn approached when Elspeth awoke from her doze infinitely comforted by his arm across her breasts. “Bruce?” she whispered into the waning night.

“Hmm?” he murmured back.

“What happened?” she asked and turned to face him.

His eyes were still closed, and his hair was tussled. He looked serene and handsome. Elspeth ran a finger along his nose, his eyebrows, and his lips. He smiled. They had not spoken of the incident that had forced them apart. The night had been for renewed passions; the coming day was for harsh realities.

“Leo left me for dead, but he should have made certain because I didnae die.”

“I can see and feel that,” Elspeth said, pinching his cheek.

“Ouch,” he grimaced.

Elspeth chuckled. Now that he was here the dark clouds of gloom and doom had dissipated and sunshine had arrived with happiness.

“The fall was nasty, but thankfully there was enough foliage and trees to break it. A man named Morris found me. He helped set my shoulder and gave me a ride in his cart to Balquhidder.”

“I’m glad ye went to Laird Labert for help.”

“He gave me an earful first,” Bruce chuckled. “Told me I was a fool to unearth the Honors.”

Elspeth played with the hair on his chest and kept her silence.

“Ye think the same?” Bruce asked quietly.

“I donae think ye a fool. Yer heart is in the right place. But Laird Labert speaks truth also. Scotland is nae ready for the Honors. I believe someday it will be. But we need to retrieve them and place them somewhere secret and secure.”

“Aye,” Bruce said, and kissed her forehead. “We will. The morning will bring us our salvation.”

“What is yer plan? Do we leave at dawn when the guard changes?”

Bruce tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and kissed her forehead. “Nae,” he said. “I need ye to go through with the wedding.”

Elspeth’s fingers stilled. The cold freeze from earlier returned to the tips of her limbs. Her stomach plummeted into the cavity of her hips. She was wide awake now. “What?” she asked, uncertain if she had heard him right or not.

“I ken it’s asking a lot of ye,” Bruce said, propping himself up on his arm to look down at her. “But we cannae have Leo alert to my intentions. As much as it disgusts me to say this ye must keep up appearances and go ahead with the wedding.”

“Ye want me to marry Leo?”
