May was trying to kiss with the same kind of intensity that he was using, but her strength was failing in comparison to his.
Iain growled and pulled at her hair as he started to position himself at her entrance. May already knew that she was incredibly wet for him, her desire was almost dripping onto the bed beneath them. Her legs were shaking in anticipation and her heart hammered in her chest as he stopped for a moment.
It was only a fleeting moment that he did stop for; his eyes met hers one last time before they slowly closed in surrender of the pleasure that ran through them both. Iain pushed in a little harder, causing his grip on her body to tighten even more.
May let out a sound that was a combination of a gasp that slowly turned into a moan. She held onto him as though she were out at sea and he was the only thing that would let her float. Iain grit his teeth as he continued to push in until he was completely inside of her.
It was a sensation that had been missing from her life for so long, but May remembered it well. It was like an old habit that she was just remembering, and doing it with the same person after all that time felt even better.
They knew how to read each other’s bodies perfectly, and May could only smile as she thought about this. However, her smile was short-lived as Iain quickly pulled out of her and slammed himself back in. She yelped and looked up at him with wide eyes. She had thought that perhaps it would be a tender moment after all, but his actions had shown her that he wasn’t in the kind of mood for anything tender.
He continued to build up a faster pace, his eyes were closed and his grip would tighten every so often. May noticed that he did that whenever May would clench around him, it was an involuntary reaction to his movements, but it brought them both so much pleasure.
Her heavy breathing was interrupted with each time that his skin slapped against hers, the sounds coming out of both of them were uncontrollable and completely animalistic. May felt as though all of the tension that had been building up between them both was now finally coming out in the rawest form that it could have done.
She struggled against him as she felt herself starting to build towards her climax. After so long, her body was ready for him to make her explode with pleasure, to be completely taken over by it.
“Iain!” May cried out his name as he continued on. Her moans seemed to only inspire a fresh wave of energy within him that he used to slam into her again and again. She knew that her body would be sore in the morning, but she didn’t care for that due to how good it was making her feel.
She could tell that he was close too; his member was twitching inside of her and his grip on her was starting to tighten even more. May wondered if his fingers would leave marks in the wake of where they had pressed so hard into her body, but she barely had any time to finish that thought before another wave of pleasure moved through her.
Iain put his arms around her and pulled her up slightly so that she was even closer to him, sweat was building up on both of their bodies, making their movements sloppy and their skin slick.
“I’m close,” May whispered, as she dug her nails into the top of his back and tried to slow him down as she was approaching her high.
But Iain only continued at his fast pace. It was as though he couldn’t hear her, or he simply chose not to listen, but he was pushing into her so fast that May thought he was going to tear her apart.
Finally, May felt the rush of pleasure that she had been waiting for. It crashed over her body with no mercy, causing her heart to flutter and her toes to curl from the intensity of it. She moaned loudly and let her back arch as much as it wanted to. The feeling was just too good to deny.
Her finishing triggered his own. He grunted and cursed under his breath as he held onto her. He spilled into her, his manhood finally relaxing as he stilled his hips.
They remained in that position for a few more moments; panting while trying to gather themselves as the feelings started to subside. May was still pinned underneath him and completely at his mercy.
She was breathing heavily while trying to regain enough strength to say something, but Iain did something that surprised her. He leaned in and pressed a tender kiss to her lips. All of the hunger and neediness from his previous actions was gone. Instead, it was nothing more than a sweet moment that May wanted to remember forever. It felt as though it was a glimpse into the past, a look at the old Iain that she missed so dearly.
He then finally moved off of her and lay down next to her on the bed. May felt satisfied with how the evening had gone, she couldn’t help but smile to herself as she thought about whether things would be different from that point onward.
“That felt amazing,” she spoke with a lazy smile.
“It did indeed,” Iain nodded and looked over at her. “Ye looked so beautiful today,” Iain added, after a long while of silence between them.
May couldn’t help but smile. Her heart fluttered at the compliment that she hadn’t expected at all. She bit her lip and pressed a chaste kiss to his lips.
“I really wish that we could be like this more,” May sighed as she turned to look at him, “I wish that we could go back to the way that things were once.”
There was silence from Iain in response.
“If only things had been different,” Iain agreed, much to May’s surprise. She had assumed that her words would trigger an onslaught of accusations against her as to why things had to be the way that they were. Of course, she felt guilty about being responsible for that, but she didn’t want those comments to ruin the tender moment they were having.
“I wish that I could go back and dae that day over again,” May said, “I wish that I had found a way to get ye out of the dungeons without ye having to leave me. I ken that there must have been another—”
“There wasnae. Believe me, I’ve thought about this a lot,” Iain said to her. The earnest tone of his voice told her that he wasn’t lying about this. He really had thought about how it could have been different.
“I could have convinced my father.”
“Nay, there was no changing his mind. Even now, I can see that he’s reluctant about this.”
May pondered over Iain’s words for a moment and thought about how right he was, even if she didn’t want to admit it.
She wished that her father had just accepted Iain from the beginning, but there had been many more factors to consider than just simply whether or not he was good enough in his eyes.
“He had the finances to think about, our marriage now has a lot more benefit to him than it would have six years ago.” May realized that she was trying to justify her father’s decision and quickly stopped talking.
“I ken, but it would have saved the two of us a lot of pain,” Iain said with a weary sigh. May knew that he was talking about all of the years that he had spent out in the real world. The times when he didn’t have a servant to wait on him hand and foot, but instead had to fend for himself. May had no idea what he had been through, and she was terrified to find out. However, that wasn’t the night for it, May knew that. So instead, she turned over to look at him one last time in the dying light of the candle by the bed.
“Good night, Iain,” May whispered into the darkness once the candle had been blown out.
“Good night, my love,” Iain spoke while half-asleep already. His voice was deep as it normally was right before sleep and just when they woke up in the mornings. She could tell that he had forgotten himself that night and May tried to savor the moment, for she knew that when the morning came, he might not be as affectionate with her.
She fell asleep with a smile on her face and moved to hold onto the large mass of man that lay next to her. He didn’t push her away, but neither was he as affectionate as she wanted him to be. May decided to let it go after what had just happened between them, she didn’t feel as though he needed to do more.
That night, May slept well. She slept better than she had for a very long time, and she put it all down to her husband, who also remained in bed all night. May hoped that he was having similar thoughts about her, and she hoped that he was dreaming of the girl that he had once loved with all of his heart.
Her dreams were of Iain, but for once, they weren’t of Iain in the past, they were of him in the near future. May dreamed of a time when they would be happy together, completely comfortable in their relationship. It was bliss.
The next morning, May awoke to the stream of sunlight that poured through the cracks in the curtains. The window was already opened slightly, letting in a tranquil breeze that cooled down the room. For a moment, she forgot where she was and what had happened the night before, but her sore body was soon there to remind her. She couldn’t help but smile to herself as she thought about it and quickly rolled over to kiss her husband good morning.
However, upon turning around, her face dropped at the sight of the empty space beside her. He was gone.
