“Exactly.” Katie shrugged. “I told you to make sure it’s all about sex, and you agreed. Plus, while you’re at it, we get to start our business. So we’re good. And we’re all going to Yelapa!”
“Not happening.”
“Fine.” Katie put on her best pout. “Let’s be boring and look at dog photos.” She held out her hand. “Give it.”
Finally.
Liv handed the camera to her, but Katie shook her head. “Can’t you connect to it with your phone? Bigger pictures.”
“Okay, but it’ll be slow.” Liv opened the app on her phone and accessed the images before sliding it across the table.
Katie scrolled through the pictures, swiping her finger across the screen. Then she started typing with her thumbs.
“Hey.” Liv reached for the phone. “There’s nowhere to type on those photos. What are you doing?”
Katie held it out of her reach. “Inviting Matt to Yelapa. You’re welcome.”
“What?” Liv lunged at Katie and grabbed the phone, toppling a margarita over onto the table in the process. Fortunately the table was plastic. And now sticky.
She opened up her messages and there it was.
Yelapa next weekend? Just you and me and your big magic wand under the stars.
Jana leaned in to read over her shoulder, and slapped a hand over her mouth to stifle a shriek.
“Oh my god.” Liv felt a wave of dizziness. Maybe she was having a panic attack? She’d never had one before, but this might be a good time to start. “I’m going to kill you, Katie. Like really kill you. How could you do this to me?”
Katie leaned back in her chair, folded her arms and looked insanely satisfied with herself. “Best friend, remember?”
“Former best friend.”
“Bueno, señoritas.” The waiter’s voice snapped Liv’s attention from her so-called friend to take their order. “Listos?”
She hadn’t even looked at the menu. My god, she was so fucking pissed. And completely screwed. Should she text him back and tell him Katie sent it? And if she did, would he think they’d been sitting around talking about him and his magic wand all day?
What a disaster.
“Señorita?” the waiter said, looking straight at Liv.
Apparently, she was the last to order. She picked the first thing that caught her attention, shrimp ceviche, and handed him the menu.
As he walked away, her phone dinged and she glanced down at the screen to see a message from Matt.
Now there’s an offer I can’t refuse. My magic wand is counting down the minutes.

Matt
Just you and me and your big magic wand under the stars.
Matt had read the text at least a dozen times over the last few days while he waited impatiently for the weekend.
It seemed so out of character for Liv though. She was bold in the bedroom, which he loved, but she turned a pretty shade of pink whenever he whispered something suggestive in her ear. Which was why the text came as such a shock.
But hell, if nothing else, it was good to hear she thought his wand was magic.
Of course, Zach had already invited him on their little getaway. But Liv didn’t need to know that. Not if it gave her an excuse to send him dirty texts. The thought made him smile.
