"What do you want, Lorraine?" Sage asked. He wasn’t interested in prolonging the events that seemed to have been planned well in advance. He knew he should’ve made a better plan for himself and Mia but he didn’t think everything would happen so quickly. He thought they still had time.

“Well, I wanted information but considering you didn't give it to me, there's nothing else to do but to get rid of you," she replied as she shrugged her shoulders. Her expression was passive and her voice was calm as she spoke. It was unnerving. She really was heartless, Sage thought.

Sage began to push Mia back and raised his gun as he moved. Every fiber in his body told him not to act so quickly but he couldn’t help himself.

“Now, now, Sage, don't do something you'll regret," she said.

Sage didn’t think twice as he ran, pulling Mia with him as he made his way to his office. Lorraine and her men followed close behind. A few shots were let loose as they ran from room to room trying to find somewhere to hide. They didn't have many options as the Omens followed them throughout the house, shooting and laughing as they went. It seemed to be a game to them and that upset Sage the most. It wasn’t just his life on the line but it was also Mia’s.

As Sage looked back, he could see that Lorraine was no longer with the men and there were only six of them behind them. He thought it would be the perfect chance to get out as he pulled Mia with him toward the back doors of the house.

"Come on, Mia, we have to go," he said as he ran through the doors not waiting for her to reply. He knew they could run out behind the house. He had placed a gate in the fence that led out to the woods behind their house and it was the only way they could lose the Omens. It was hugely disappointing to find that Lorraine had gone to the back of the house with the other four missing men. Obviously, she had suspected that they would try to escape through the back of the house. Sage was out of ideas as he faced defeat. He couldn’t save Mia or himself.

“You’ve got to think ahead, Sage. You didn’t honestly believe you would be getting out of this, did you?” Lorraine asked as she watched them. He wanted to attack her, shoot her right in the chest but he couldn’t. They would be able to shoot him down quicker.

“So what’s the plan, Lorraine?” Sage asked. He was curious if she would even answer his question. He wanted to stall, buy more time even though he had no other plan.

“Well, wouldn’t you like to know, but it doesn’t work that way. I guess you’ll just have to find out,” she said. Sage and Mia watched as the four men behind Lorraine separated, two went toward Sage and the other two went toward Mia. Quickly and forcefully they tied their hands up. One of the men took the gun out of Sage’s hands while he was tied up. He didn’t even have the chance to injure anyone in the process.

“Take them to their pantry, tie up their feet and lock the door behind you. The game has just started,” Lorraine said. The men did as they were told and led Sage and Mia back into the house. They pushed them into the pantry and they both fell on to their asses. The men then tied them up by their feet and left, locking the door behind them.

“Shit, we’re screwed, aren’t we?” Mia asked. Sage didn’t know how he would get them out of the mess they were in. His hands were tied tightly behind his back.

“BURN IT TO THE GROUND!” he suddenly heard Lorraine yell from somewhere outside of the house. Alarm bells went off in his head as he realized what she meant. Their plan was to burn the house down with them inside.
