He hung up then without another word and I could feel myself already growing excited as I used GPS to figure out exactly how far I was from his part of town. It turned out that I was thirty minutes away which meant he lived outside of town.
I sped there. And before I knew it, I was on the outskirts of the city and approaching an unincorporated part of town. I quickly found Ty’s neighborhood. He lived in a high-rise that overlooked a lake. It was a breathtaking view. I couldn’t help staring at it as I parked my car and called him.
“I’m here,” I said after he picked up on the first ring.
“Be right there.”
I slid out the car and only then did I realize I still had on my date night attire. I hoped he would just think my choice of clothing was for him. I hoped he wouldn’t get suspicious.
I closed my door and leaned against the car. For some reason, I was nervous. And excited. I couldn’t remember feeling this way about someone in a very long time.
I watched him exit the elevator positioned near the front lobby of his building. He wasn’t wearing any shoes was the first thing I noticed. He was dressed casually in low-slung jeans and a t-shirt that did not disguise the fact that Ty’s body was “movie star” hot.
“Hi,” I said, feeling sort of breathless.
He stopped right in front of me and gave me a slow smile. “Where’s the rest of your dress?”
I laughed. “Are you complaining?”
“No…” He pulled me towards him and spun me around slowly. “You look beautiful in that dress. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to control myself.”
I gave him a smile over my shoulder and said flirtatiously, “Then don’t.”
Together, we made our way into the lobby of his building and I followed him silently, checking out his backside as he moved in front of me. He then turned around, took my hand in his and the gentle gesture only served to turn me on even more.
The sexual tension between us lingered in the air. As he held my hand, I could feel my skin heating up. I was already growing wet. I wanted him badly.
Ty was calm and collected. His voice gave nothing away nor did his body language. He led me to the elevator and it opened for us just mere seconds later.
I tried to play it cool as I rested against the clear glass and watched Ty watching me. I wondered if he could see in my eyes how much I desired him. He leaned against the elevator doors and said, “So did you have some sort of party to go to tonight?”
I blinked, not understanding what he was talking about. And then I remembered his comment from earlier about my dress.
“Something like that,” I said barely above a whisper. My date with that guy who’s name I suddenly couldn’t remember was the furthest thing from my mind. All I could think about was Ty.
He kept his eyes trained on mine as he waited for me to say more. Even his gaze was sexy.
“So that’s it?” he said softly as the elevator came to a stop. “You’re not going to elaborate?”
“Does it matter? I’m here now.”
He seemed to find my answer to be enough, I guess, because he took my hand again and led me out the elevator towards the hall that I assumed led to his place. It was swanky that was for sure, but I barely paid attention to the aesthetics of his building. His warm hand stroked mine and triggered little goosebumps on my flesh. He turned around and looked at me and I could see the heat in his eyes. He felt the same way, I realized, but he was much better at controlling himself than I was.
Finally, we arrived at his door and he opened it. It was dark, but as we walked further in, our arrival triggered the lights to come on.
I followed him into the kitchen and sat down on the barstool across from him. He opened the refrigerator. “Would you like a drink?”
“I’ll take a beer,” I said.
He opened one and handed it to me. And then my stomach growled. I was instantly embarrassed, but he laughed it off. “Hungry?”
“Just a little bit.”
Food was the last thing on my mind, but I should probably eat something, I said to myself.
“I don’t have much of anything,” he said looking in his refrigerator. “Just a bunch of fruit.”
“Fruit?”
