“Thank ye, Faither.” Nash kissed Kellina passionately, making her feel randy.

“Nash, we’d better save this for later,” she whispered when he brought her up and out of the dip he had her in.

“Let’s drink Mountain Magic,” came the crackly old voice of Callum MacKeefe. “Three down, and one to go.”

“Aye, that’s me,” said North. “What’s my sentence, Callum?”

“Easy, young one,” said Callum, handing him a mug of whisky. “Just be glad I allowed ye to be here, and drink for the day. Because where ye’ll be goin’, ye will be far away, and ye willna like it, I am sure.”

“Where? Where are ye sendin’ me?” asked North anxiously.

“Brathair, calm down,” said Nash with a chuckle. “Let’s all drink to the bonniest wife ever.”

“I’ll drink to that,” said Gavin, lifting his mug. His wife, Davita was next to him.

“Me, too,” said Cam, doing the same. His wife, Yvaine clung to his arm.

“The bonniest wife?” Davita asked Gavin.

“Ye’re drinkin’ to that?” Yvaine asked Cam.

“We meant . . . we meant . . .” Cam started, looking anxiously at Gavin for help.

“We were drinkin’ to our bonnie wives,” said Gavin, taking a big chug from the tankard.

“Aye, that’s what we meant.” Cam did the same.

Davita and Yvaine started laughing, only having meant to tease their new husbands.

“We were only jestin’ with ye two,” said Davita.

“Let’s go help the lassies set out the food,” said Yvaine. She looked over to her four-year-old daughter holding the kitten, standing with Jamie and Caitlin. “Avianca, ye be careful with the kitten now, sweetheart.”

“I will,” said the little girl with a wide smile on her face as the black kitten licked her hand. Then, Davita and Yvaine headed away, chatting like the old friends they were.

“Congratulations, Sister.” Caitlin ran up and gave Kellina a hug. Then she looked up and whispered. “There are a lot of cute MacKeefe lads here. I am glad we came to live here after all.”

“Stay away from the boys,” Kellina called out as Caitlin ran off with Jamie and Avianca.

“I think everyone looks happy here.” Spring came up, cradling her baby. Shaw had his arm around her.

“We wish ye the best,” said Shaw.

“And plenty of bairns,” added Spring.

“No’ too many too fast.” Nash raised his hands in the air.

“That’s right,” said North, overhearing them. “After all, my brathair is comin’ with me when I get my sentence. And from the sounds of it, it might no’ be a verra nice place, or close by.”

“Callum never said where it was,” Nash said, looking over to Kellina nervously. “I’m sure it willna be that bad.”

“I hope it willna be anywhere too dangerous.” Kellina hugged Nash, never wanting to let him go.

“I’m sure my grandda willna be choosin’ anywhere that is more dangerous than bein’ up on roofs,” said Storm, trying to ease the tension.

“Guid then,” said Kellina. “Because my husband is a sure-footed goat when it comes to roofs, so he will be safe on the ground as well. Oops,” she said, slapping her hand to her mouth. “I promised not to tease ye about that. Sorry.”

“Baaaaa,” chortled North, causing everyone to laugh as they walked away, leaving Nash and Kellina standing there together.
