What was that all about?
His jaw worked from side to side, his nostrils flaring. Anger. I knew that one, but I’d never seen it directed at me from Misha.
He blinked, and the familiar bloom of desire threw his pupils wide. A loud gulp sounded, and his grip on my wrists changed. Still firm, but he stroked his thumbs back and forth over my pulse points.
I straightened to my full height, which pushed my breasts toward him, and parted my lips.
“Sit.” Misha took a step back and motioned at Leo’s chair.
I glanced that way to gauge Leo’s reaction and found him staring down at me from the window. He turned his back to the view and slid his hands into his pockets.
Okay, so were we reversing things or something?
I sat and crossed my ankles, pulling my feet beneath the chair and locking my hands together in my lap, covering myself the best I could without my dress.
My gaze jumped from Misha to Leo and then to Viktor.
He was the one who gave orders and punishments.
Not Misha.
Misha hunted.
I still remembered the feel of his arm around my throat, the low growl of his breath in my ear as he panted. It had been a frightful thrill that I dreamed of repeating.
Viktor took a step forward, his firm jaw tight but his eyes matching pools of liquid heat. He looked at me like he couldn’t decide whether he wanted to destroy me… or devour me.
Honestly, he could do both at the same time. He’d proven that already.
Leo cut in front of Viktor but stopped out of reach, hands still in his pockets. “Do you work for Anton Pravchenko?”
“Who?” It took a second for the question to settle, but I had answered automatically, the name so foreign in my head that it burst out of me. I looked at each of them in turn, my head swiveling to take them all in. My forehead ached from the force of my frown, but I didn’t even try to smooth it.
They shared a look. I’d either surprised them or disappointed them with my answer.
“Am I supposed to know who that is? Did I mess up an appointment?” If it was something as simple as that, I doubted they’d interrogate me in my lingerie. Then again, they had taken ‘offense’ to my talking about our sex life and punished me for it.
Leo’s face darkened, but he stayed put beside Viktor.
Misha moved to stand just out of sight, and I tried to turn to look at him.
“Eyes on me.” Viktor barked out the command, and I whipped around to stare at him, licking my lips in the process. His gaze dropped to my lips, then wrenched up to meet my eyes. “Has anyone approached you asking for information on the company?”
I shook my head, a no perched on my lips.
Leo cut in before I could answer. “Have you shared any of the private emails we have trusted you with?”
“No. Of course not.” Indignation sparked a different kind of heat in my stomach, and I stood.
Misha’s hand on my shoulder forced me back down on my ass with a thump.
My breaths rasped in and out, the loud sawing sound filling the air. “I would never.” I needed them to believe me. Tears once again threatened, and I shoved them way down deep. “Has something happened? I honor my promises.” I fidgeted with my fingers. They might not believe me after my blatant disregard for my own rules just now.
Leo stared at me without blinking.
Damn. I understood now why Elena suggested they were Bratva. The way they studied me put me on edge, and for the first time since I’d met them, the sense of danger turned my way.
My flight response kicked in, but I knew if I tried to escape, Misha would be on me in an instant.
