Grinning, I lowered my lashes and wrinkled my nose. “Hm. Mobster’s wife mentality.”

He groaned and lowered his voice so even I could barely hear. “You are so sucking my dick on the way home because I am rock fucking hard right now.”

One brow lifted as I picked up my glass and focused on the stage. “Daddy’s going to be in my tummy soon. Yum yum.”

“God, I fucking love you, kitten.”

My smile broadened and I tingled everywhere. Letting the moment pass, my brain was twirling and plotting, working out a plan to save Amanda’s life.

Chapter 36

Wyatt Shaw

She looked utterly flabbergasted, which wasn’t a surprise. Her thin lashes batting wildly, her complexion blanched, her mouth was opening and closing to words she couldn’t seem to form, her focus darting back and forth between us.

Her hand shooting to her throat, she stammered, “That’s just not possible.”

I lifted a brow and set my ankle on my knee, sinking lower in the cushion, my arm draped across the back of the sofa so I could play with Chastity’s hair. “I’m afraid it is. Meyers told me himself at the birthday thing back in October.”

Squinting, she leaned forward, her arm folded around her large belly. “Gay?” she whispered.

“Bi. He still has a couple female lovers, but he really, really prefers that Alberts guy. That gold Rolex he got for Christmas? From his boyfriend.”

She choked on a gasp, sitting upright.

“It almost seems as if the two are in love,” Chastity sighed, twisting her lips to the side.

“You are aware he’s grooming Heather to marry Alberts’s son already, right?”

Her eyes bulging, her cheeks turned red as tears brimmed. “She’s still just a baby!” she screeched.

I shrugged, digging my fingers further into her hair to massage her scalp. “Doesn’t matter. To the outside, it just seems like harmless banter and joking, but they’re serious. They think if their kids are married, it wouldn’t be so suspicious that they’re together all the time.”

The back of her wrist covered her mouth, her lids closing. “I’m going to be sick. He’s going to destroy her life. How could he do that to his own daughter?”

Chastity tucked a foot under her leg and leaned against me, her temple on my collarbone. My arm fell to drape across her shoulders, my fingers now petting up and down her bicep.

“I dunno,” she muttered, getting sad, as well.

“We got a plan.”

Amanda instantly froze, her nostrils flaring. “Last time you came to me with a plan, I got locked in this cabin.”

“And so far, that plan is working. Right?”

One side of her face scrunched as she clicked her teeth. “I guess.”

“At Chazzy’s wedding, Jack hit on one of her friends.”

“My good old buddy…Dave,” she giggled, stressing his name.

She slowly sank into the cushions, looking from me to her and back repeatedly. “Okay.”

“Well, it seems as if Dave now owes Chazzy a huge favor.”

“Huge,” she stated, waving her fingers through the air. “Like, a hundred grand type of favor.”

Amanda winced, her palm moving to the side of her belly. Was that the baby? Did he kick? Why did something inside me stir, longing to feel that movement?
