Taken aback, his brows lowered, his lids squinting. “What? I know that. I know you would never betray me like that.”

So overwhelmed with relief that he wasn’t angry with me, Wyatt never even entered my mind to dredge up my guilt. Heaving a sigh, I slapped a palm over my eyes and sagged into the mattress.

“Jesus Christ, I thought you were going to kill me because you thought I allowed that.”

A finger under my chin, he tugged me to look at him. “Hey, baby girl, that’s something you don’t need to worry about. I love you more than anything or anyone in this entire world.”

His tone was so soft and soothing, my fear began to dwindle away. Arching my brows, I held his wrist, my heart quickening.

“I can’t survive without you, killing you is never an option. You didn’t even do anything. Are you okay? Did he hurt you?”

I faintly shook my head, losing myself in his beautiful eyes that shone with so much devotion. “Just scared me. Someone tried to help, but he told them I was his fiancée and was drunk, and we were arguing because he was trying to take me home.”

His nostrils flared, his lips taut. “Bastard. From now on, you don’t leave my sight unless Wyatt’s with you.”

I nodded and scooted toward him.

His expression softened, his palm caressing down my throat to my chest. Mischief sparkled in his irises as he cupped my breast with a tender squeeze.

I moaned, my lids fluttering, my nipple hardening on his palm.

Without warning, fireworks burst outside, momentarily lighting the dark room. I screeched and tensed, both of us craning our necks to peer out the thin window above us.

Milo bowed his chin and muttered, “Happy New Year, Chazzy.”

Meeting his gaze, a small grin tugged my mouth. “Happy New Year.”

“I promise, 2016 is going to be the best year of your life. I’m going to love you so much, baby girl. In six weeks, you will be my wife and make me the happiest, proudest, luckiest man on earth.”

And just like that, the tension was gone, and I was swooning. How? How was he able to pull me in so easily? Every time the veil thinned to show me reality, he swept me off my feet and I eagerly turned a blind eye to every red flag.

The last year with this man I had learned a lot about myself. Some things I was rather proud of, some things, not so much. One trait was discovering just how selfish I truly was, for I wanted Milo to keep loving me. I didn’t want to lose him, or Wyatt. I wanted them both and was willing to risk the consequences of having what I desired.

Tucking his hand into the neckline, he pulled the breast out, lowered his head, and suckled the hard nub, his tongue circling and flicking.

My head rolled toward him, warmth oozing throughout my body. Tangling my fingers in his hair, I held him there, arching toward his mouth.

He groaned, his hand venturing lower and tucking between my thighs. Rubbing at my pussy, his middle finger parted the lips to stimulate my clit.

“Oh, Milo,” I purred, squirming against him.

He kissed a trail to my ear where he whispered, “I love you so much, baby girl.”

My heart soared. He loved me too much to hurt me. He would never cause me harm.

When I was wet, he broke away to quickly remove his underwear and then crawled between my legs. Seeking out my mouth, his tongue brushed against mine while his tip tenderly entered, taking his time to fill me to his base.

My hips lifted toward his with another heady moan, my hands cupping his ass cheeks to pull him even closer. Pressing the back of my head into the pillow, I breathed, “Oh, god, you feel so good, Milo.”

He rose to his fists over my shoulders, making slow, deliberate grinds. His head tilted, his breaths were getting heavier with an occasional cough or grunt. “No one feels as incredible as you, Chazzy.”

I bucked, throwing my legs behind his, and he paused, his eyes rolling.

“I knew I was going to fall in love with you that first day you touched me to give me a massage.”

The corner of my mouth curled into a smile, my heart swelling. We began to move slowly, gazing into one another’s eyes in the darkness, the sporadic bursts of fireworks letting us see just enough.

“The first time I felt this beautiful, thick pussy.” He gave a deep thrust and groaned, his eyes closing. A lazy smile parted his mouth, his strokes resuming. “I knew I would love you until the day I died. I knew I was going to marry you. You are perfect for me.”
