“We need a quick word, I am the father of a baby on this floor. I’m going to talk to Rose Callahan, but first can you tell me where you would have family waiting?”

“Oh, okay. Yeah, Ms. Callahan has a lot of people that are staying in the waiting room. We kind of are allowing it because of who they are. Normally we don’t let people stay in the waiting room overnight. It’s right down the hall to the left. You can’t miss it.”

“Thank you.”

When we get to the room everyone looks up at us.

“Holy shit. Well if they kick your ass son, I’m not going to be much help. I don’t think we could take them all at once.” Dad mutters when he looks at all the people in this room.

I glance around and see that Dragon, Whip and Fang are still here. Which gives me a sigh of relief. I ignore all the glares from Rose’s family and walk towards my brothers.

“Hey, brothers, can I talk to you for a minute.”

“Yeah.” They all answer as they stand up and we walk out of the room.

“Are you guys staying here tonight?”

“Yeah, the women don’t want to leave. The kids are being watched so we figured it would be alright. I’ve been trying to get Liza to at least ask for a cot or some shit to sleep on since she’s pregnant.” Dragon says.

I love how he throws that in whenever he can.

“Okay, well, we’ve got some shit going down. We have two missing whores who seem to be trying to scheme against Rose. I don’t want them anywhere near her. Plus she’s got some fucking psycho who is trying to get to her and threatening her and my son. So if you guys could stand watch until Lash gets other brothers assigned to her door that would be amazing. Plus I fucking really would feel better knowing that you guys are also here.”

“Yeah, brother, since we are here we can do that for you.” Whip says.

I haven’t talked to Whip much since it came out that we are brothers. I hate that we really aren’t close and maybe we can change that moving forward.

“Thanks, brother.”

“Of course, that’s my nephew in there.”

I sigh and before I can say anything else Whip is pulling me into a hug. I hug my big brother back and he whispers in my ear.

“I know we have both had a lot of shit going on and I know we have both been through a bunch of shit when we were younger, but I want you to know that you are my brother and I am here for you. I will be here for you if you ever need me. We need to get together and talk sometime. Without any of the pressure.”

I nod my head because I don’t fucking know what to say. I’ve never been good at the mushy shit. Never been good at expressing my feelings about anything.

“Yeah, I’d like that.”

I pull away and make eye contact with my dad who is watching us from the entrance.

“Is Beau Callahan in there?”

Dragon is the one that answers me, “No, he was going to take everybody to a hotel like Rose asked, but none of them wanted to leave the hospital until she did. So he went back to her room. I believe he’s in there with Abby and Brynley.”

I nod, turn and walk towards Rose’s room. My dad is walking next to me and when we get to the room we hear laughter. I knock on the door and wait for someone to say ‘come in’ before we enter. When I walk in, Rose is nursing Reid with a blanket covering our boy. Even though I can’t see everything it makes my heart pound in my chest by how amazing this woman is.

Chapter Twenty-Six

Rose

I’m still laughing at the story that Brynley told us as the knock comes at the door. I tell whoever it is to come in and my head lifts as I the person comes in. Rage enters followed by an older version of himself that I have come to know is his father, Devil. I had assumed they all went back to the clubhouse earlier when I asked him to leave and I didn’t expect him back tonight.

“What are you doing here?” My dad asks from the chair next to my bed.

“We came to talk to you all. Then we will get out of your hair.”

I notice that Reid has unlatched and I open the blanket looking down at the beautiful boy and see that he is done eating. So I adjust my top and bring him out of the blanket. I notice Devil is looking at him with a soft smile on his face.
