Wes had indeed woken her—twice—to make love to her. The third time, Virginia had awoken at daybreak with Wesley’s cock inside her, gently sliding back and forth, while he’d caressed her breasts tenderly and pressed sweet kisses to her nape and shoulders. She had surrendered to his demands, basking in the affection he showered her with. She could get used to being woken like that every day.
In the shower they’d washed each other just as tenderly, and she would have liked to hide out in Wesley’s room much longer, but she knew she couldn’t avoid the other guardians forever.
“It’s gonna be fine,” Wesley murmured as they walked to the door.
She turned her head to look at him. “How—?”
“You’re an open book, Virginia.” He brushed a few strands of her hair behind her shoulder and caressed her cheek with his thumb. “Nobody is going to think any worse of you just because you’re sleeping with me. You could do worse, you know.”
He winked at her, and she smiled involuntarily. “You don’t take yourself too seriously, do you?”
“What’s the point? Life is serious enough.” He reached for her hand. “Now, let’s have breakfast. I’m starving. I burned a few calories last night. And I need to recharge, or you’ll toss me out on my ass when I can’t perform tonight.”
Virginia shook her head. “Oh my God, you really do think about sex all the time.”
Wes leaned in. “Only because you’re so damn tempting.”
At the door she hesitated. “About what I told you last night—”
“That’s only between you and me. Nobody will ever know.”
She saw the truth in his eyes and nodded. “Thank you… for everything.”
The smile that she’d come to love appeared on his face, and he leaned in and brushed his lips over hers. Automatically, she parted her lips and accepted his tender kiss, because whenever Wesley kissed her, her worries seemed to shrink, and hope that everything would turn out well spread.
Wes lifted his lips from hers and leaned his forehead to hers. “Hmm. You’re turning me into an insatiable creature.”
“I have the feeling you’ve always been insatiable.”
“Maybe, but nobody’s ever indulged me like you.”
She chuckled. “I can’t quite believe that. I’ve sure you’ve had plenty of women catering to your every whim.” After all, one look into his baby-blues, and what woman with a pulse wouldn’t be drooling?
“I’m taking the fifth on that question.”
“It wasn’t a question. It was a statement.”
“So you think you know me, huh?”
She tilted her head back and looked into his eyes. “Better than a few days ago, my sexy witch.”
He laughed. “Now, see? You calling me witch suddenly doesn’t sound like a swear word anymore.”
She rubbed herself against him, being deliberately provocative. “What does it sound like now, witch?”
Wesley dropped his hands to her ass and pressed her to him. “Right now it sounds like you want to jump this witch’s bones.”
“And it seems like this witch is all ready for it, too.” She eased out of his embrace and slid her palm over the hard bulge in his pants. She loved how quickly Wesley could get excited, because it confirmed that she had power over him. The same kind of power he had over her.
He dropped his gaze to her hand and smirked. “You keep that up, counselor, and we’ll never make it to breakfast.”
She smiled and turned to the door, then walked straight through it into the corridor. A moment later, the door opened behind her and Wesley stepped out.
“Very funny,” he said dryly.
Side by side, they walked to the kitchen. Virginia could already hear the voices of the other Stealth Guardians behind the closed door. She took a deep breath and entered, Wesley behind her.
