The bastard just smirked at me, and really, there was only one thing for it. I peeled myself off him, grimacing at the mess between us.

“Let’s wank each other off in the shower and see if there’s any more cum in our balls.”

His laughter was immediate. “You’re so weird.”

“I think you meant to say ‘wonderful,’ but you got the first letter right. Now, come on.” I grabbed his hand, yanking him upright. “Stop lazing around in my bed and get in the shower.”

“Okay. We’ve got me, King, Jay, and Volksy. Are you and Wells in?”

Neo shook his head. “Toby won’t be. He’s got a date tonight.”

My eyes narrowed as I studied my housemate across the kitchen island. The way he’d said “date,” with that lip curl…

“Hey, Clayts?” Sliding off my stool, I rounded the island to come up next to him.

“What?”

“Are you, um, bi?” I whispered the last word.

Neo’s eyes widened. “Wh— Who told you? I’m not—”

“Hey, calm down, bro.” I patted his shoulder. “Just a question.”

“A question that came out of nowhere.”

“Uh, no. It was your face when you told me Toby had a date.” I decided not to add that Liana had mentioned he was potentially bi.

“For fuck’s sake,” he groaned, lowering his head and burying it in his arms. “Yeah, I am, but don’t go shouting about it, okay?”

“Your secret’s safe with me.”

“It’s not… It’s not a secret. I’ve hooked up with a few guys. I just don’t wanna make things weird between me and Toby, if he thinks…”

“You fancy him. Yeah, I get it.” Squeezing his shoulder, I sighed. “Are you sure he’s straight? Because I thought I was—” Oh shit, I hadn’t meant to say anything. “—I mean, uh… Oh, fuck it. I recently found out I’m bi. Who would’ve thought?”

Lifting his head, he stared at me with what could only be described as an incredulous look on his face. “Are you serious? You thought you were straight? You?”

“The fuck, Clayton? I’ve literally slept with, like, hundreds of women since you’ve known me, and zero men. I’ve never even looked at another man in that way.”

“But you’ve had a massive thing for Lincoln Bellingham for forever.” Neo’s eyes widened. “Shit, Hoyts, did something happen between the two of you? Is that how you ‘recently’ discovered you were bi?”

“What!” I screeched. My face was getting hot. “I have never, ever had a thing for bellend Bellingham. Not even a sliver of a thing. The only thing I’ve ever had for that wanker is unmitigated levels of pure hate.”

“Are we finally acknowledging Arson’s crush on Bellingham?” Kane Worthington, whose nickname would henceforth be known as Worthy to Die, strolled into the kitchen with a smirk on his smug face.

“Fuck you. I still haven’t forgiven you for punching me at the party.”

His smirk was instantly wiped away. “Don’t start.”

“Yeah, okay. I… Look, Li’s my friend. Just don’t hurt her, or I will castrate you. Slowly. With a rusty knife.”

Neo winced. “You’ve been spending too much time with King.” He glanced over at Kane, who was staring out of the window, his throat working, and then his gaze flicked back to mine. “Let’s drop the Bellingham thing. Arson doesn’t have to tell us anything he doesn’t want to.”

“There’s nothing to tell,” I muttered. Nothing I wanted to share with my teammates, anyway. “Okay. Wells is out today. That means you’re in, Worthy, if you can manage to control your temper. We’re going to the rink to do some extra drills. Gotta be prepared for our next game. Coach said our passes were looking sloppy, so we need to tighten them up.”
