“Oop! Okay, I see you’re a feisty one. I like you.” Mizz Keke laughed. “And I love your outfit.”
“Thank you. It’s Bodied By NouNou. My little sister made this. She’s fire when it comes to whipping up outfits.”
“Well, shout-out to lil sis!” Mizz Keke hit the horn sound effect multiple times, then said, “Okay, now back to this tea! Is there a point in time when there will be some type of reconciliation between the three of y’all?”
“No, I’m good on her,” Ozy said. “What we had is what we had. There’s things I won’t accept, so what I can say is there’s no need for us to ever revisit our relationship. I wish her the best of success, and that’s it.”
“I agree,” I chimed in. “If I see her in the streets, I’ll say hey, and we can keep it moving. We don’t have to have beef and bad blood over a man.”
“I know that’s right,” Mizz Keke said.
Bigg Boi Ross asked, “So are the two of y’all dating?”
We both shook our heads at the same time and laughed.
“We’re friends,” Ozy said. “And who knows what may happen in the future?”
“I agree. He’s a good friend, and I appreciate him for all he does.”
“Oh, that’s so cute,” Mizz Keke said. “You know most relationships start off as a friendship. Maybe y’all might make things work in the future, especially since y’all made magic in the studio, right?”
Ozy smiled. “Yeah, we did. We actually brought our new record with us for an exclusive premiere. Our new song is called ‘The One for Me,’ and it drops on all platforms this weekend.”
“You know I’m a big fan of your music,” Bigg Boi Ross said, “and honestly, this is some of your best work. I can tell there’s been a lot of growth since you stepped away from the limelight for a little bit after tragically and unfortunately losing your sister.“We were talking about this off-air, right, Keke? You can hear the pain in the record, but like I said, you can also hear the growth.”
“I agree. This record is a hit, and we can’t wait to play it. So, without further ado, this is the exclusive premiere of ‘The One for Me’ by the one and only Ozy Love and the debut of Noree.”
The music dropped, and I could finally breathe. I heard his voice. Then I heard mine, and it seemed like all my nerves went out the window.
Even though I had heard that record a hundred times, it was different hearing the full song played on the radio.
When the song went off, we were stealing glances at each other, and I had to look away because I was blushing.
“All right, we’re opening up the floor for calls,” Bigg Boi Ross said. “Caller number one, what you got to say about this record?”
“Hi, I’m Ashley from Stockbridge. And honestly, I love this record. Ozy Love is my favorite, but Noree, she definitely just stole my heart because I Googled her while y’all were on break, and she’s a big girl, and so am I. I love that she has that confidence, and she looks so pretty. She sounds so good, and I can’t wait to hear more from her and him together.”
My eyes teared up a little, and I had to blink fast. “Aww, thank you. I really appreciate that.”
“Caller number two, what you got to say?”
“Honestly, I feel like the song could’ve been better. I’m not really feeling it.”
Ozy laughed right into the mic. “My music ain’t for everybody. But the ones that get it, do. And the ones that don’t, well, I feel sorry for you.”
I probably looked a little mortified, but I liked the way he handled it.
“All right, we got one more caller, and then we’re wrapping it up. What’s your name, and where you from?”
“My name is Crystal T from East Atlanta, and I love it, I love it, I love it. Can y’all play it again? And Ozy Love, if it don’t work out with you and Ginger or Noree, holla at me.”
Ozy laughed. “I got you, baby.”
I cut my eyes at him, and he laughed. I was sure he was just being friendly, but why did I immediately get jealous?
The woman screamed so loudly they had to cut her off, and they ended the segment.
“You know what?” Bigg Boi Ross said. “Let’s run that record back.”
