“Really,” Nick purred as he ran a hand over Simon’s groin. “Just as well I intend doing all the work then, isn’t it?” In one quick movement, he unzipped Simon’s linen chinos, revealing the tight black briefs beneath. Simon’s cock was already taking interest and beginning to harden under Nick’s appreciative gaze.

“What did you have in mind?” Simon asked huskily as Nick’s mouth hovered over his cock. Nick grinned wickedly.

“This.” He pulled Simon’s underwear out of the way and swallowed down his prick in one heated, sensuous gulp. Simon groaned as Nick’s wicked, tight lips sucked him in and his hand prompted Simon to lift his hips, so Nick could get access to his balls and the base of his cock.

“Jesus,” Simon grunted as he closed his eyes and got swept away in the cock-sucking skills of his Mountie. “Keep doing that, it feels fucking…great.” Nick didn’t answer, but hummed around Simon’s cock, using his tongue and mouth suction, a combination that threatened to blow Simon’s head off. He was mortified at the needy moan that slid out of his lips, entreating Nick not to stop.

When Nick raised his head, and those icy blue eyes flaming with lust looked straight at him, Simon came explosively, body racked by tremors of sheer pleasure. Nick’s mouth encased him until it was all over, and then he sat up, regarding Simon with a smirk.

“Not bad, eh, my lord?” He seemed inordinately pleased with himself and Simon didn’t blame him. That had indeed been epic, to quote the obnoxious grandson of one of his mother’s friends. Simon lay boneless on the bed, arms spread, and regarded his lover with lazy eyes. “I’d give you an eight.” He chuckled as Nick squawked in indignation.

“Hey. That was at least an eleven on the one to ten scale. Bastard.”

Simon drew him down to lie across his chest. Nick snuggled in happily. “Give me a minute then I’ll return the favour,” he murmured. “I did say I wanted something meaty.”

Nick’s laughter rumbled against his chest. “God, could you get any more cheesy? Fine, you have a minute. Then you can get your fill of me.”

Simon listened to Nick’s breathing and the satisfied noises he made as he trailed a hand across his body.

Simon’s chest ached.

Damn it. I’ll miss this man.

The steamy night of passion in Simon’s hotel room left a lingering fond memory the following day, as he picked up his suitcase and belongings to depart for the airport. He’d ordered a taxi to take him there despite Nick’s protests he’d drive him. Simon wasn’t good at good-byes, and the thought of seeing Nick in the airport, waving good-bye, was more than he could take.

Nick had a place in Simon’s heart, and he would rather his last image of Nick be of him standing here in the bedroom where they’d shared so many intimate moments rather than in the cold, impersonal concourse of an airport. They stood awkwardly, staring at each other as Simon checked he had his tickets.

“So Aristocat sixty-nine, I guess I’ll be seeing you online then?” Nick’s smile was forced. “No doubt we’ll come across each other there.”

Simon’s stomach lurched. Of course, Nick would find someone else to take his place. He hadn’t considered that fact until now. He nodded, trying to suppress the well of jealousy that overwhelmed him.

“I suppose so, Northernsalute. Although with everything that’s gone on here, what with getting kidnapped, and thwarting the Canadian mafia, I have a ton of shit to deal with when I get home. Peter and Collette have been holding their respective forts with the management team, but I have some decisions to make. Like appointing a new CEO for this branch,” he sighed. “So I don’t think I’ll have much time for fun for a while.”

He didn’t miss the look of relief on Nick’s face when he replied, “I think I’m in the same boat. Between waiting for the verdict on my career, figuring out what to do with Aunt Rose’s house before it bankrupts me, and dealing with the drama queening that’s going to come between Steph and Ben when they try to get pregnant, I’ll have my life mapped out for me for a little while.”

Simon picked up an envelope from the table under the window and walked over to Nick to stare into his eyes intently. “I’ve given all my statements to your boss as to what happened and what I think should happen, and I hope they’ve taken heed.” His tone made no bones about what might occur if they didn’t listen to him. “You don’t deserve to go out with a slur on your name, and to that effect, I’m giving you this.” He handed the envelope to Nick.

Nick took it and looked down, taking a minute to read what it held. When he looked up, his face was incredulous. “How in fucking hell did you—” Understanding dawned on his face. “Jackie.”

Simon nodded. “I asked her to do me one last favour before she comes on board as a Breakforce employee and I might not get away with doing stuff like this anymore.” He grinned but his eyes were steely. “It’s your choice to do with the information what you see fit. I don’t want that smarmy bastard Jeffries getting away with tarnishing your reputation so use it if that’s what you need to do. Don’t stand on principle here. Give as good as you get. That’s always been my motto.”

The hotel buzzer sounded, and Simon glanced toward it. “That’s my taxi. I need to get going.” He pulled Nick into a fierce hug and held on to him for all he was worth. “I’ll miss you, Nick. You aren’t getting rid of me that easily. I intend on Skyping you to keep in touch with how things are going, if that’s okay.”

Nick’s voice was muffled, his face pressed against Simon’s chest. “I’m fine with that, and don’t worry, I’ll keep you updated.”

Simon squeezed him tighter. “Do I get a kiss good-bye? I think it’s the least you can do after all we went through together.”

Nick raised his face, and Simon swore his eyes were wet. He didn’t get a chance to confirm as his mouth was seized fiercely by a possessive pair of lips that invaded his soul and made him forget everything other than being in Nick’s arms. When the kiss was over, and Simon’s mouth ached to feel another like the one he’d just experienced, Nick nodded as the buzzer sounded again, longer this time.

“Off you go, before he comes up here and drags your gorgeous ass down to the lobby. Stay safe, Simon, and let me know you get home safely.” He moved away, crossed his arms over his chest, and waited. Simon pulled up the handle on his roll suitcase.

“Au revoir,” he called softly. “Look after yourself, and remember, no bloody bodyguarding unless you want to cause me a heart attack.”

And with a faint smile and an ache in his heart, Simon turned and left.
