Nick had never been one to date multiple men at the same time, even if this wasn’t really considered dating. But if Simon needed to hear it, Nick had no problem with that. “I agree, no other men.”
Simon flashed a smile that must have men falling to their knees all over England. “Now get showered so we can order dinner.” Nick smiled back before heading into the bathroom, still shocked by the turn of events.
Forty-five minutes later, he lounged against the headboard snacking on a tray of cheeses and fruit they’d ordered from room service. Simon lay at Nick’s side, sipping on his bourbon, while Nick took a swig of his beer, something Simon had his mini bar stocked with for Nick’s benefit. A package of McVitie’s Chocolate Digestive Biscuits lay in the centre of the bed. Simon had shared them with Nick, and he had to admit they were delicious.
They’d been watching the Space Channel, a guilty pleasure he hoped Simon didn’t mind. Over dinner they had shared a bit more about their families but nothing too personal. Nick shared his life in the military and his Aunt Rose, while Simon shared more of his home life: his two special people named Peter and Collette, and his mother, Sarah. They still hadn’t even shared each other’s last names, but it didn’t matter. In this room they were free of their lives, obligations, and careers, free to be Nick and Simon.
Simon set the tray on the coffee table they’d pulled beside the bed that held the food they’d ordered. Instead of eating at the table, they ate in bed and watched television, cozied up side by side sharing the food between them. Nick didn’t think Simon had many chances to relax and enjoy himself. In fact, neither did Nick.
Simon pulled Nick closer and asked, “You’re staying the night with me?”
Nick set his drink on the bedside table and wrapped his arms around Simon. “Yes, but I have to be up early. I have to meet with my boss first thing.”
“I’ll make sure you’re awake. I set a spare key card for the suite beside your clothing, so that you can come and go as you please,” Simon explained. “As well as my personal cell phone number.”
“Are you sure? What if you have other people over? How can you trust me with this when you don’t really know me?” Nick liked the idea of not having to knock every time he came over. He wasn’t a risk to Simon, but the other man didn’t know that.
“Yes, I’m sure. I don’t invite people up here and I have a safe for all my personal papers and belongings,” Simon answered, holding three fingers up. “I believe I’ve answered all of your concerns.”
Nick sat there, trying to come up with any reason not to do this. There were none. “Okay.” Why the hell not?
Simon pulled out that sexy grin of his and murmured, “Now, on to more pleasurable pursuits.”
Nick wholeheartedly agreed, and the remainder of the evening was spent exploring those pursuits in the most erotic ways possible.
Nick had a feeling this was going to become a lot more complicated than it seemed.
