“Please,” she begged. “Make me come.”
She’d do anything to come. Anything.
“I have a question for you, Charlie” Lorenz said, each word punctuated by a deep, slow thrust that made her see stars. “Answer it and I’ll let you come.”
Charlie gripped his arms.
“Mmm … no games, Lorenz. I need to come now.”
His fingers curled inside her, right where she needed them. “Just one little question.”
She was going to lose her mind. “Okay.”
“Is it true what you said, that you only come with me?”
That was more information than she’d meant to share with him, that day. But she wasn’t about to lie to him now.
Charlie bit her lip and nodded. He pulled her chin up gently, so their eyes met.
“Do you have any idea how sexy that is?”
His fingers scissored inside her, finding the spot that made her ignite. She was going to come so fast, so hard, if he didn’t let up. She debated for a moment whether to warn him, then decided to enjoy the ride.
Her inner muscles clenched. Her body shook. Her eyes threatened to roll to the back of her head.
Oh. My.
“I’ve got you, honey. I’ve got you,” Lorenz said. And he did. Those strong arms pulled her close, holding her tight in exactly the way she needed, pushing the post-orgasmic loneliness away.
Finally, sated but exhausted, Charlie leaned back onto her pillow. Lorenz’s hand played with her bellybutton, with her breasts. As if he couldn’t get enough of her body—enough of her.
“Come here,” she said, opening her thighs to welcome him, even though she wasn’t sure she could come again.
“I—“ The doorbell buzzing interrupted whatever he was going to say. “Damn. Let me see who it is.” He pulled on a pair of jeans and went out, closing the door behind him.
Charlie pulled the duvet up to cover her body, enjoying the languorous warmth. She struggled for a moment to keep her eyes open, then gave in and closed them.
Just for a moment.
She opened them to find five minutes had gone by. And Lorenz wasn’t back yet.
She stepped quickly into her black dress, glad the material didn’t crumple easily, though the soft fabric didn’t feel as elegant this morning. She smoothed her hair down as best she could, and went out into the living room.
Lorenz was standing by the open door, talking to two men—Beau and Ry. Though she’d seen them only hours earlier, they looked like entirely different people. Gone were the suits and ties. Today the two men wore identical navy blue PGHM uniforms; the fabric structured, unmistakably official.
And here she was, barefoot, in what was clearly yesterday’s dress.
Heat crept up her neck. She took a step back, intending to retreat into the bedroom before anybody noticed her, but it was too late. All three men had already turned to look.
“Charlie,” Lorenz said, his voice even, as if this were the most ordinary thing. He lifted a hand, beckoning her closer.
“Hi,” she said, her voice quieter than she intended.
“Ms. Brooks. Charlie,” Beau corrected.
His tone was not unfriendly, and there seemed to be no judgment in his eyes. Charlie relaxed slightly, but the dark embarrassment still persisted.
“We … I …” The words stalled in her throat.
