“Thank you, what?”
“Sir,” Austin blurted. “Thank you, sir.”
“Good,” Dominic whispered. He snapped his hips, and Austin couldn’t think of anything coherent for a while. Everything blurred into heat and pressure, Dominic’s low voice at his ear, whispering things that made Austin fall apart even more. He was barely aware of his own orgasm barreling toward him until Dominic’s hand brushed his cock as he was stroking down Austin’s belly.
That light touch was like an electric shock. Austin thrust up against Dominic’s touch, even though it was already gone.
“Please, sir,” he slurred. “Can I come?”
Dominic groaned, his thrusts speeding up. “Ask me again.”
“Please, sir, let me come.”
Dominic curled a hand around his cock. It only took two strokes before Austin started coming, his eyes rolling up and his brain whiting out as his orgasm crashed over him. Wave after wave of pleasure, until he wouldn’t have been able to tell he even had a body without Dominic on top of him.
“Shit,” Dominic whispered. “Austin.”
Then he stilled, his mouth opening against Austin’s neck as he spilled inside him. Austin got enough brainpower to wrap his arms around him, riding out the feeling of Dominic’s hips working in minute little thrusts until he finally sagged over him, boneless and spent.
For a while, the only sound in the room was the two of them breathing, chests rising and falling against each other. Austin was dimly aware of Dominic pulling out and collapsing on the pillow beside him.
Austin shuffled over, ignoring how much he wanted to sleep so he could examine the bandage on Dominic’s shoulder. No breakthrough bleeding, as far as he could see.
“How’re your stitches?” he asked, and blinked at how out of it he sounded.
Dominic slid an arm around his shoulders, dragging Austin down to the uninjured side of his chest. “They’re fine. Quit worrying, it’s just the job.”
Austin frowned. He was pretty sure getting stabbed wasn’t a huge part of being a bodyguard. This was the biggest injury any of his bodyguards had ever received on shift, even if it was shallow.
He wanted to press Dominic on it. But his eyes were sagging shut, and the way Dominic stroked his arm was as good as a lullaby. Or more accurately, as good as a tranquilizer.
Dominic’s chest hair was a comforting texture against his cheek. Austin rubbed against it like a cat and muttered, “Don’t know what I’d do if you got properly hurt.”
Dominic didn’t reply for a moment. Austin battled against sleep, waiting for Dominic to assure him it was all part of the job.
But Dominic kissed his hair, so tenderly it made Austin think he was already dreaming.
“I’m fine,” Dominic said against his forehead. “We both are.”
Austin touched the tape holding Dominic’s bandage in place. It was already fraying. Austin would change it in the morning. It was the least he could do.
There was something else he needed to say. But he was half asleep, and he didn’t want to sound pathetic, and Dominic had already done so much for him.
He said it anyway.
“Stay.”
Dominic didn’t respond. Austin didn’t expect him to. But he thought he heard Dominic say something before sleep finally dragged him under.
“You got it.”
CHAPTER 12
Dominic hadn’t been in this position for a while.
This position being watching someone while they slept. He’d been hoping he grew out of that in his twenties. But here he was, thirty-six and just as gone as he always got.
For his boss, no less. So much for his attempts to not get close. Austin asked him to stay the night, and he’d caved. How could he not? Austin needed him after last night, and Dominic…
