“No, baby. I did that fifteen years ago and I’m holding you to it.” He held the ring he’d found in her bag, the same one he had given her so long ago. He slipped it on her finger and kissed her softly.
Evelyn felt her body quicken as desire flooded her. She grinned at him. “How soon can we get out of here and start that?”
“Whenever you want, baby. Whenever you want.”
Evelyn melted as he dotted sweet drugging kisses down her neck and almost forgot about her wounds, wincing when she tried to take things too far too fast.
“Time to sleep, mi nena.” Alex pulled away and dropped a sweet kiss on her nose.
She grumbled but felt sleep pulling her under as her mind tried to keep up. “When I’m healed, I want to go home, Alex.”
“To Paris?”
“To Miami. I want to see my parents again. It’s time.”
“Okay, baby, we can do that.” He gave her a squeeze. “Now sleep.”
“Okay.” She was quiet for a few minutes. “Alex?”
“Yes, baby?” Evelyn could hear the humour in his voice.
“What are we going to do about Osiris and the traitor at Eidolon?” The threat was still on her mind even as she lay safe in his arms.
“Don’t you worry about either of them. I have a feeling neither will be a problem for long.”
“Do you know who it is?”
“Not yet but I’m getting closer and have it narrowed down. Now sleep, baby. I won’t go anywhere.”
“Love you.”
“Love you too, mi nena,” he whispered as she drifted off.
