“It’s at the Oval Office Club.”

Ah, yes.

The new White House-themed club everyone had been talking about.

I’d never gone, but from what I’d heard, it was where people my age with too much money went to party.

Someone had called it DC’s Studio 54.

That alone had been enough to keep me away.

I had a reputation to protect and cameras to avoid. Once, Secret Service had to drag Adelina out when she’d snuck inside.

“It’s discreet,” Rachel said. “Everyone has to put their phones away. It’s the perfect place for people like us to unwind in private.”

Her fingers slid along my sleeve.

I looked down at them in disgust like a bird had just shit on me.

Again, those comparisons came back.

Daphne touched my fucking wrist and my body acted like she’d grabbed my dick.

I swallowed my irritation and smiled at Rachel.

That smile was at least real.

She’d just handed me the perfect plan for tonight.

I could get Daphne out of that bedroom.

There were only two problems.

Getting Daphne to behave.

And making damn sure no one recognized the princess.

Thirty-Four

Daphne

Who would’ve thought the White House would be boring as shit?

I sat cross-legged on Brooks’s bed, twirling my tiara between my fingers.

I’d found it while rifling through his bag to pass the time.

Given he’d left me unattended and phoneless, he should’ve known I’d play Dora the Explorer.

Sitting quietly with my own thoughts had never been one of my talents.

So far, my snooping had been productive.

I’d found my tiara. A box of Pleasure Pack condoms.

I’d stolen a few of those, shoving them into my pocket.

A kidnapping tax, if you will.
