Wes arches an eyebrow. “Pretty sure we’d be good anywhere.”
I decide to ignore that, because this conversation is becoming dangerous. “You’d find all the hidden local restaurants. I’d make us stop at every bakery and gelato shop.”
“You’d spend half the trip shopping,” he teases.
“I would not.”
His eyes meet mine. “Yes, you would. And I’d follow you into every store.”
Wes is flirting with me, and he isn’t exactly being subtle. The crackling fire and the glow of the moon overhead aren’t helping.
“We’d have fun together, Peach.”
I reach for my wineglass, feeling bold. I’m tired of ignoring the simmering tension we’ve been dancing around this entire trip. I can’t even remember anymore why we decided we had to deny each other. I want him too badly to keep pretending I don’t. Maybe we just need to see where things could go?
Tracing the rim with the pad of my finger I decide to flirt back. “You might need to remind me just how much fun. It’s been a while.”
Wes studies me from his lounger next to mine, the firelight dancing across his features. “Careful, Lottie.” The warning is quiet, a little rough around the edges. “I’m hanging on by a thread here, and if you keep saying things like that, you’re going to find out what happens next.”
Heat rushes to my center, making my clit tingle and my nipples peak.
I wish he’d just take me inside already.
“What happens next, Wes?”
Wes’s gray eyes darken to the color of steel. “Do you want me to show you?”
THIRTY-TWO
Wes
Lottie drags her bottom lip between her teeth and shifts in her chair. I’ve been playing house with my wife long enough to know that’s a challenge, and one I eagerly accept.
She cocks her head as her eyes meet mine. “I think I should probably know what’s going to happen before I say yes.”
A muscle in my jaw tightens and my cock twitches in my pants. The air between us is charged, the sexual tension so thick you can practically see it. I stand and cross the distance separating us and lower myself on to the edge of her chair. Her eyes are pinned on me, and she shifts in her seat like she’s trying to ease an ache. I study her, rotating the platinum band on my finger, wondering how far I should let this go.
She shifts in her chair again. She’s needy and she wants me. Fuck, I want her too.
I shouldn’t be thinking the filthy things I’m thinking but fuck if that’s going to stop me.
I push to my feet and hold out my hand. “Where’s the fun in that?” I say watching her green eyes flick to my hand. “Get up, Peach.”
Her eyes flick back to my face as she slips her fingers into mine. Tightening my grip, I pull her up so that she’s flush with my chest, close enough that I can see the gold flecks in her eyes. Her hands curl into the front of my shirt and neither of us looks away. Every ounce of restraint I’ve been clinging to is long fucking gone.
“Lottie, fuck the agreement.” Her breath catches but she doesn’t look away. “We’re going inside.”
A coy smile plays at her lips. My wife is such a tease and I love the way it feels.
“So, this is the part where you take your wife to bed?”
I huff out a laugh. “Getting impatient, my Peach?”
“That happened a long time ago.”
A dangerous amount of satisfaction ripples through me. Holding her hand, I lead her into the chalet, closing the sliding door behind us.
“This should be fun,” she says, excitement flickering in her eyes.
