He growled as he slid deeper.
He felt bigger at this angle. I curled my fingers around the fabric of the couch as he started to move, filling that ache that had formed deep inside me over the days we were apart.
I bit my lip against the sensations that threatened to overwhelm me. He'd set a pace that made it difficult to think straight.
He reached around and cupped my breast, tweaking my nipple before drifting lower to my clit. He rubbed the swollen nub, and I pushed back. He pressed harder, and I cried out, waves of pleasure washing over me.
It felt never-ending as he continued to move inside me, and when he finally let go, I collapsed on the couch. He carefully pulled out and went to the bathroom. He returned with a washcloth, carefully cleaning me and then turning us so that he was spooning me. I rested my hand over his, feeling content.
Everything was finally right.
He was here, and he loved me.

The next morning, I made coffee, and we carried two mugs out onto the balcony. There were only a few people on the beach this early in the morning, so it felt like we had the world to ourselves. We cuddled on the cushioned couch, sipping our coffee, and watching the colors in the sky change.
"I appreciate that you offered to move to Miami, but I just don't see you here." I sat on his lap, my head cradled on his chest.
"I'm here now, aren't I?" His voice rumbled in his chest.
"This city isn't for you. You might try and fit in, but you'll always be a mountain man."
He chuckled. "Is that so? Then where do you suggest we live?"
I lifted my head and looked him in the eye. "I can visit Colorado between my jobs."
His brow furrowed. "Then you wouldn't be living in Miami anymore."
"How do you feel about me moving to Colorado?"
"Are you serious?" he asked, his expression cautious.
"I kind of fell in love with Hart Inn and your workshop apartment."
"I am building a house. We can make it what we want," he said carefully, as if he was afraid I'd change my mind.
I let out a breath. "Is it too soon? Are we moving too fast?"
"Let's take it one day at a time. If you want to try living in Colorado and see how it goes with your job, then we'll do that. I want you to be happy, so if you want to spend some time here, we'll work that out so that my business can operate with me in the workshop year-round."
"But you just made the decision to build your business. I don't want to get in the way of that."
He brushed a strand of hair out of my face. "We're going to see how it works and make changes as we need to. But I think both of us can be successful and make a schedule that works for us."
"I've been thinking a lot about that. How to make business work so that I can have a personal life.”
"I don't know what will work, but we'll figure it out together."
I sighed and rested my head on his shoulder again. "I can't believe you're here. I just never pictured you at the beach. Or at least, I tried and couldn't envision it. That's why I thought we'd never work."
"Beck said something to me in the beginning. He said that when I was in love, I'd be willing to move my home and business to wherever you were. I didn't believe him. It seemed like our differences were insurmountable. But as time went on, I realized that my future looked empty without you in it. I planned to talk to you the night you left."
"I'm sorry about that. I really thought it was going to be an amazing opportunity. I've been working so hard to build my business. But I've been moving from one job to another, never stopping to think about creating a life that I can enjoy."
"I think we both have to work on a better work-life balance. We can be successful in our businesses while taking time off."
"I like the sound of that," I said, watching the sun move higher.
