“And you don’t?” I move closer to her, backing her up against the door.

“No, and you probably shouldn’t either.”

I crowd her, getting as close to her as possible. Her breath hitches, making her breasts sway. “You don’t have to worry. I don’t kiss and tell.”

“Which, in turn, tells me you’ve kissed a lot.” She wets her lips with the tip of her tongue. I’m not sure, but I think she likes hearing about my conquests. Just in case, I water it down.

“This week?” I flash her my panty-melting smile, it gets them every time. “A few maybe, but I promise it’ll be worth it.”

“Rush?” Colton cuts through the haze of desire and this damn eye candy in front of me. “I see you’ve met my partner.”

My gut sinks, and a wave of nausea makes me dizzy. I take an uneasy step back, running my hand over my face. Secretly admonishing myself for falling for this old trick. But I’ll be damned if I didn’t like it.

“Yeah, I guess I have.”

She holds her hand out, nipping her bottom lip. “Rush, I’m Spencer Woods.”

“Spencer, huh? Not what I had pictured for a Spencer.” My face must be as red as it feels, cause I’m breaking out into a sweat. I don’t do embarrassment; I don’t like to look like a fool.

“You’re not the first, I’m sure you won’t to be the last.”

I cut my eyes to Colton before savoring every inch of her body. The soft curves of her hips, paired with her full breasts, made me weak in the knees. Something best not shared.

“I think Colton would agree, only your name would be mistaken for a man.” Her gaze meets mine, burning deep with a fire so hot, I’m dying to stand in the middle just so I can be engulfed by her.

Colton’s hands go up in defense. “I might, but I’m going to abstain from answering.”

“Should we get started? I feel like we should.” I drag my attention from Rush, hoping Colton will take the lead.

“Ahh, yes. Although, I have to say this was getting interesting.” Colton chides us. “Shall we?”

I move to the side, pulling a chair out. “Please, take a seat.”

“Thank you.” Spencer murmurs, sitting in the chair across from me, throwing Colton off. Colton slips into the one to my right, and I take the seat in my hand.

“Rush, have you given any thought of stepping up into the pro series?” Colton folds his hands on top of the table, studying me. I don’t want to jump at the chance or seem too ready, so I play it cool.

I smile with ease, my eyes flickering between them. “I guess it would depend on the deal. Although I can’t deny, I’ve considered it.”

“My company and CD Enterprises have come together to offer you sponsorship in the pro series stock car racing. We would like to bring you in and go over what we’re offering.” Her eyes float from Colton’s to mine. She waits for me to show any sign I’m wanting to agree, that I’m ready to take it before they can explain what they have for me. But that’s not how I work.

“I think I can arrange something for Tuesday if that’s good for you.” My left leg begins to trot, blowing my nonchalant cover. I move my hand from the table to my leg, slowly so as not to draw attention.

Colton turns to Spencer, his brow furrowing. “I think we need to give you complete transparency here. I’ll be a silent partner. I’m here to help you acclimate to a professional approach to your career. I think we can all agree, there are a few things we need to work on.”

“Meaning…” I tilt my head toward him but stare at Spencer.

“Look, I tend to be a little more business and straightforward than Colton, who’s better at the sports star persona and understanding it. The thing is, you’re a PR nightmare. Between the public fights, crashing into someone that’s angered you, and the philandering, you’re high risk and we need to come to an agreement as to what everyone brings to the table.” Spencer grinds her jaw, her gaze set on me with a different fire burning in them from before.

If I were to read anything into them, I would be left with the impression that she disapproves of me. I dare say, she doesn’t even like me. Odd, considering her body's reaction to my touch earlier.

“Am I to understand you don’t like me very much?” I twist in my seat, turning to face her as I narrow my eyes. My intent is to throw her off, make her nervous like I did before. Although the desire is set in her gaze, she seems to be under complete control. Now we’re talking, this I can do.

Game on.

She leans in, coming close to me with a glint in her eyes. “What I like is the fact that you can drive if you’ll take some advice. You’re a marketing dream come true, and the ease you have of applying torque in such a way, the track contorts for you. Other than those things, nothing else matters.”

“We appreciate your talent and simply want to take you to the next level so we can all make some money.” Colton adds with a nod of his head. They make a good team, she ropes them in, and he keeps us here. I was had before I knew it, but now, I need something from her.
