“Oh, Katie, are you all right?”

The concern in his voice…it’s heavenly.

I nod, taking another sip. “He insisted that we’re still going to get married. Can you believe that? After cheating on me with…” I lick my lips. Probably shouldn’t go there. The wound must still be fresh for him.

Robert shakes his head, scratching the scruff of chest hair emerging from his shirt. “Ah, of course.”

Twisting my lips, I frown. “Sorry, I’m confused.”

Robert’s eyes focus on me, highlighting the flawlessness in his cheekbones, the strong lines of his jaw. How is it possible for a man to be so perfect? And why isn’t he a movie star? “Just when I thought my son couldn’t sink any lower.”

“Lower than…cheating?”

Robert nods. “There’s a clause in my father’s will that requires Kyle be married before his twenty-first birthday. If not, no money.” And then it clicks, and I nod slowly too. “So he figures if he marries you—”

“Then he’ll be rich.”

Robert shrugs with disgust. “Well, richer.”

Right now is when I should keep my mouth shut, but I just can’t help myself. “I’m so sorry, Robert, but your son? He’s a douchebag.”

Robert pauses, then lets out a hearty laugh that makes me smile too.

Normally, a man this gorgeous, this rich, with this incredible sense of style would have me trembling with anxiety. But I’m actually starting to do okay now. I’m feeling more comfortable around him. Not completely relaxed; that would be crazy. But better than I was when he first brought me here.

Looking at him now—he feels like a partner. Someone I could confess anything to. I can’t say what it is about him that has me feeling this way. I just do.

And I like it.

“I want him to lose it, Robert,” I say through gritted teeth. A devilish smile. “That money.”

Again, I may have overstepped. But Robert looks back at me, then slowly smiles.

“Good. Then we’ll take it from him.”

ROBERT

Katie stands behind me as I sit at my desk, scouring through my son’s recent financial activity. Normally, this isn’t something I would do. I’ve always let Kyle run his own life. But in light of recent events, I think a little parental investigation is more than warranted.

However, I can barely focus on the screen. I’ve had women dressed to the nines, trying to seduce me in every big city in Europe. Not one of them made me forget my own name. But Katie’s still wearing those shorts girls wear when they’re relaxing in their rooms and aren’t worried about looking stylish, and I’m losing all control. There’s just something about them and how easy they look to pull off…

…and right now, that’s all that’s going through my mind. Hooking my thumbs in their waistline, sliding them down over those lush, curvy, teenage thighs. What kind of panties is she wearing under there, I wonder. Is her cute little pussy bare? Or does she have just a tiny patch of hair…?

All these questions are tearing at my ability to focus.

And then there’s that vintage T-shirt she’s wearing…so easy to slide my hands up and under and get ahold of those plump little tits. Jesus, what a body. Even in that outfit, I can see she deserves to be worshipped.

“Anything suspicious?” she asks. Her cute little voice hammers me out of my daydream. I blink several times and try not to react as I scroll through Kyle’s bank statements.

“Actually, yes.” I point to the screen. There are several outliers, massive charges that should not be there. “See these? Plane tickets. Hotel bookings. And this—this might even be a down payment.”

“A down payment? Like on a house?”

I try not to smile. Her innocence is adorable and has my cock pulsing against my fly. “Yeah, like on a house.”

Katie lets out a tiny gasp. “So they were actually going to run away together?”
