Julian hesitates.
"You know, when he gets something in his head, there's no changing his mind," Chase says, joining us.
The fact that he's now here, too, only serves to turn me on more. I have three fated mates. I'm naked in their bed. And one of them is going to make me come.
I wrap my hand around Julian's cock. His eyes grow wide and he lets out a groan.
"Chase, come here," I order. "And take off your clothes."
Chase hesitates for a second before dropping his pants. "Sorry, Wes, you're on your own."
"So you two don't mind that Amber peeks at her Christmas presents every year?"
Chase lowers his voice to a whisper. "I peek at mine, too."
Wes glares at him.
Chase shrugs.
"What does this have to do with Christmas presents?" I demand. I try to rub myself against Julian's cock again, but he pulls back.
"You're not even going to deny it?" He stares at me in surprise.
"I don't like waiting." I pout. "Please don't be mad, Juli. I love you."
"I love you too, Bean." He shows me just how much by pulling me in for a soft, slow kiss.
I used to hate when he would call me Bean—and I would call him Juli as revenge—but now the childhood nickname fills me with warmth.
Wes settles on the bed next to us, and when Julian pulls back, he plants a soft kiss on my lips. "I'm not mad at you, either, Ambear. But I want you to give me the chance to prove to you that some things are worth the wait."
"Like Christmas presents?" I ask hopefully as I snuggle into his chest.
Wes chuckles. "And orgasms."
I pull back to look at him. "How much waiting are we talking about here? Please tell me you don't mean until tomorrow morning?"
"I'm not a monster," Wes deadpans.
I grin. "But if I have to wait, so does Chase." I turn to my bunny shifter. "You don't really peek at your presents early, do you?"
"Only as a kid. My parents used to hide them under their bed, so it wasn't that hard to peek. Not a lot of hiding places in our cabin, and there wasn't much else to do for fun."
"Other than sneaking out to go to the library." I smile at him.
Chase smiles back. "But now I wait until Christmas morning. You know, gifts don't just bring joy to the people they're meant for. They bring joy to the people who give them to those they love. Seeing your excitement on Christmas morning—your genuine excitement, in that moment when you open your present—that is the true gift."
Usually, one of the guys would tease Chase about sounding like a romance author—which he has been ever since he wrote Love Blooms—but they're busy watching me.
"I didn't realize how important this was to you." I look at each of my mates in turn, so they can see that I mean my next words. "I promise I won't peek at presents anymore. No matter how hard it is."
Wes glances at Chase and Julian, and the three of them exchange a nod. He speaks for all three of them when he says, "Then let us show you how much better it can be if you wait."
Chapter 5
"Just lie back and relax." Wes gently nudges me to my back.
"Easy for you to say," I mutter, but dutifully do what he asks.
