She has a tattoo at the side of her ribs, snaking slightly around her back. I trace the feather with my finger causing Olivia to squirm against me. “What does this mean?”

She presses into me harder, grabbing my arm and wrapping it around her, interlocking our fingers. “I got it when I first moved here. Sash convinced me. She kept telling me that I needed to remember that I was free. That Ryan didn’t have a hold on me anymore.” She breathes softly in my arms, the steady rise and fall of her chest a comforting feeling. “There’s no reminder more permanent than a tattoo.”

“You haven't told me much about him. Was he really so terrible”?

“He wasn't abusive or anything like that.” Thank God. “He was just very controlling. It was something I couldn't see until after I had left. Sasha tried to tell me but it’s like I couldn't hear her. I wish I had listened sooner.”

I run my fingers up and down her arm trying to bring her some sense of comfort. “What did he do that was controlling?”

“He chose what I wore, decided what I ate, if he did something wrong he would always twist it until I believed it was my fault.” My muscles tighten around her, concern and anger twisting in my gut. “Relax, Josh. I got out. I’m here now and I am happier than I have ever been.”

She snuggles up next to me as I bring her comforter up to cover our naked bodies.

“Good night, Josh.” She yawns softly and moves in closer to me.

I plant a kiss on the side of her head, closing my eyes and basking in this feeling. “Good night, beautiful.”

We didn't sleep for long. A few hours after dozing off, I was woken by the feel of Olivia’s hand tracing circles down my stomach. I gripped her tighter, letting her know I was awake. She looked up for confirmation and from there, moved down between my legs where she sucked me off so good, I came down her throat.

We stayed up for hours talking. I didn't know it was possible to talk to someone for so long and not get bored but I could listen to this girl's voice all day and never tire of it.

Not long after that I found my head buried between her legs again. Making her come undone is my new favorite hobby. The way her whole body goes still right before she comes. The sounds she makes when she reaches her release. She's unreal.

It's 7am before she finally falls back to sleep. I let her know I'm going to an early morning training session but I'll call her later.

She's on my mind the whole drive to the stadium. She's the most perfect woman I've ever met and I'm not ashamed to admit that.

During our conversation through the night, we've decided to keep what's going on between us to ourselves. She doesn't want to risk her new job working for the team, and I don't wanna disappoint my aunt. For now, all anyone has to know is we agreed not to see each other. They don't need to know what happens behind closed doors.

“Hey, Cap.” Knight calls out to me as I climb out of my car.

“Hey man, what's up?”

“How come you didn't come out last night?” The whole team had agreed to meet at a sports bar downtown to watch the Chicago v Toronto game. Toronto is the team to beat this season and we’re up against them in a few weeks.

“Must have forgotten.” I reply, which isn't entirely untrue. After things started happening with Olivia, I did forget.

“Oh yeah? We called you. How come you didn't pick up?” He questions.

“Uhh, I must have been sleeping.” I scratch the back of my neck, not looking him in the eye. I've been known to wear my emotions on my face and I'd rather he not pick up on the fact that I'm lying.

“You son of a bitch. You got laid, didn't you?” Well shit. I smirk at him. No point in hiding it now. He just doesn't need to know who. “You lucky fucker. How was it? Who was it?” Nosey as always.

“It was…” Hide the smile, Josh. “Yeah, it was good. You don't know her.”

“You gonna see her again?”

“Yeah, I think I will.”

“Must have been a good lay then.” He laughs and I join in. If only he knew.

A moment later, we walk into the locker room where most of the guys are already changing.

“Sup, Matthews.” I say to my friend, setting my bag on the bench.

“Hey, Cap. Wait…” He looks me up and down. “You got laid.” It's not a question.

I give him a how the fuck do you know look and he shrugs. “Same clothes as yesterday, messy hair, hell, you're practically glowing.”
