Meanwhile, seven of my surviving Waverly pride members are approaching from the eastern route with five Callel enforcers and Angus, Freesia mentally cataloging their coordinated assault. And another ten Callel enforcers are moving through the southern approach. Three separate strikes, three different angles, all converging on the same target.

The plan was elegant in its simplicity—rescue the innocent Vael pride members who'd been caught in Cassian's web of ambition, neutralize his followers, and finally confront the Alpha who'd turned a four-hundred-year peace into a battlefield of his own making. But as they drew closer to their destination, unease began clawing at the edges of her confidence.

"This will be dangerous," Luka murmured from her right, his voice barely audible. "But we've literally accounted for every variable and have a solid plan with several contingency options."

That's exactly what's bothering me, Freesia realized with growing alarm. It's too clean. Too perfect. And Cassian isn't the type of man to leave variables unaccounted for.

She knew the jaguar Alpha's reputation—patient, calculating, always three moves ahead of his opponents. The man who'd orchestrated the massacre of her family wouldn't have spent three months hunting her without preparing for the possibility that she might eventually bring the fight to him.

What if we're walking directly into his hands?

"Just focus on executing your part," Izei said quietly. "No one gets hurt if we stick to the plan."

But through their bond, Freesia felt the tension radiating from him—the same unease that was making her tigress pace restlessly. His tactical mind was running through scenarios, calculating risks, and coming to the same uncomfortable conclusion that had been nagging at her for the past mile.

He senses it too. The feeling that we're playing directly into Cassian's strategy.

The jungle around them had grown too quiet. No night birds called from the canopy. No insects hummed in the undergrowth. Even the wind seemed to hold its breath as they approached the final half-mile to Cassian's estate.

Something's wrong.

Freesia's hand moved instinctively toward the tactical knife strapped to her thigh, her enhanced senses straining to detect whatever had silenced the natural sounds of the Singapore wilderness. Beside her, she felt Izei's muscles coil with readiness, his panther rising close to the surface as his protective instincts sharpened to a razor's edge.

We're about to reach the point where Luka splits off to begin his rescue mission, she calculated, mentally marking their position against the route they'd memorized during their planning session.

"Ambush!"

Reth's shout exploded through the night air like a gunshot, shattering the unnatural silence that had been building around them. Behind them, she heard the distinctive sounds of shifters dropping into combat stances and weapons being drawn.

Damn it. Cassian did anticipate this. He probably found his six dead jaguars from last night and knew we'd come for him.

"I need to get to the innocent people," Luka said urgently, his body already racing toward the northern route that would take him to the residential areas of Vael territory. "They're sitting ducks."

"Go," Freesia commanded without hesitation. "Get them to safety."

Behind them, the sounds of combat erupted as Reth and the two enforcers engaged whatever force Cassian had positioned to intercept their approach. Steel rang against steel, growls of pain and fury echoed through the trees, and the scent of blood began to permeate the humid air.

"We've got this!" Travis shouted over the chaos, his voice tight with controlled aggression. "Get to Cassian's estate!"

The others should be there to help us when we arrive, Freesia thought desperately as Izei's hand closed around hers.

"Move," Izei commanded, his Alpha voice cutting through the sounds of battle. His fingers tightened around hers as he pulled her forward, away from the ambush site and toward their ultimate destination.

They ran through the moonlit jungle with desperate urgency, branches whipping at their faces and roots threatening to trip them with every stride. Behind them, the sounds of combat faded into the distance, but ahead lay the unknown—Cassian's estate, Mareth's betrayal, and the confrontation that would determine whether four centuries of peace would survive or die with the last Waverly royal.

Through their mate bond, she felt Izei's fierce determination matching her own, his love and protectiveness wrapping around her like armor as they charged toward the final battle that would reshape Singapore's future forever.

The sounds of battle crashed over Freesia as she and Izei crested the final ridge leading to Cassian's estate, and her breath caught in her throat at the sight spread before them—thirty jaguars in their shifted forms circling and attacking her seven surviving Waverly tigers and fifteen Callel panthers in a vicious melee that painted the manicured grounds crimson.

This isn't how we planned it, she thought desperately, her eyes scanning the chaos for any sign of Angus or Luka. Please tell me they're getting the innocent people to safety and Cassian hasn't already slaughtered them.

The elegant estate that had looked so serene in their reconnaissance now resembled a battlefield, with bodies locked in deadly combat beneath the moonlight. Snarls and roars echoed across the property as claws met flesh, and the metallic scent of blood hung thick in the humid Singapore air.

"Stay beside me," Izei commanded, his Alpha authority cutting through her shock. His brown eyes blazed with protective fury as he assessed the situation with tactical precision. "We fight as one."

Before she could respond, his body began the familiar shift—bones lengthening, muscles expanding, midnight-black fur erupting across his skin until his enormous panther stood where the man had been. The sight of him in his shifted form never failed to steal her breath, all that controlled power and deadly grace focused on protecting what mattered most.

Her tigress surged to the surface with eager anticipation, ready to finally face the enemies who had destroyed everything she'd once called home. The transformation rippled through her body like liquid fire—her spine extending, powerful muscles coiling beneath golden-orange fur marked with the bold black stripes of royal Waverly bloodline, and her blue eyes blazing with centuries of warrior instinct.
