“Oh my god,” she gasped, voice high-pitched as she dropped her head, palms landing on either side of Galen.

“See? Told you I’d remind you,” Galen said, but Maeve felt too good to give into his tease.

“You better not come before me,” was all she could think of.

Galen’s hips twitched at that.

Now that he had her permission, his fingers bruised her hips where he held her. Where he began to snap his hips up and drag her down onto him at the same time. His movements grinded her clit against him in a chaotic rhythm.

Finally, this was what she needed.

Galen was chasing his own pleasure, his strokes erratic and rushed, and his rasping breaths and moans were loud in her ear.

Turning her head to the side, she muffled her own whines against her skin.

Maeve felt Galen pulse inside her as his pace stuttered. He was close, and she was growing closer with every punch of his hips and every glide of him inside her.

With a growl, Galen pulled her hips to him and paused there, stilling them suddenly. She turned her head back to face him because, like, what the fuck?

Before she could even part her lips to ask, Galen rolled them to the side and situated them, flipping her over and grabbing her hips, pulling her ass up in the air. She arched for him, gripping the sheets tight as he slammed back inside and set a bruising pace that pushed the breath from her lungs with every thrust.

“Talk to me,” he demanded.

Maeve swallowed, turning her head to the side so he could hear her.

“Have you not come yet?” she gasped out. The words probably would have sounded a little more scathing had she not been taking every inch of Galen’s cock. “Exactly how much pampering do you think you deserve before you have another orgasm?” The words came out between muffled moans, but they had her desired effect.

With her head turned toward the side, she could barely see Galen out of the corner of her eye, but her attention was rapt on the movement of their shadows. With the moon streaming in, their shadows were cast across the floor, framed by the dim light. She dug her teeth into her lip, watching the shadows move in unison with each thrust.

He groaned, loud and long and as sounding as desperate as she felt, as his hips stuttered, as she fluttered around him in the first waves of an orgasm.

Maeve muffled her whine and gripped the covers so hard her knuckles turned white as pleasure flooded her.

“Fuck, fuck, fuck, I can feel you—” Galen panted.

Her eyes tried to drift closed, but she snapped them open, watching Galen’s shadow shake. His hands squeezed her hips hard as he pulled her back onto him and held her there. She felt him jerk as he came, felt the shudder run through him and watched the shadow do the same.

She blinked, dazed in thrumming pleasure, and suddenly the shadows were… different. Blinking again, she studied Galen’s. His stain on the floor changed. One split second it was him, and the next it… wasn’t. Almost like it was distorted, except Maeve was certain the new shadow had horns and wings that didn’t belong. Heart in her throat, she turned her head the other way, seeing the moon bright and solid directly through the clear window.

Galen sighed and encircled his arms around her stomach, leaning over her back to pepper her shoulders with kisses.

She turned her head back the other way, and the shadows were normal again. The curve to Galen’s back was smooth, no wings jutting out.

Rolling over in his arms, she stared up at him, half expecting to see horns sticking out of his head. But his inky waves were the same as usual, if a little mussed from their activities.

A half smile curled her lips as she reached up to fluff it back into place. His hair had probably just fallen out of place, distorting the shadow.

“Hi,” she said quietly, staring up at Galen.

The lines around his eyes were relaxed, his brows missing their usual knot.

“Hi,” Galen echoed.

Maeve tugged him down to her and kissed him, running her hands through his hair softly. Then she pulled him down next to her. His massive frame bounced on the bed as he landed, and Maeve curled around him, head on his chest.

Her legs were still a little shaky, so she needed a moment to breathe. And Galen had been so good, he deserved a little rest too.

“Feel okay?” she asked him, rubbing her cheek against his pec.
