The coffee had done absolutely nothing to keep her up, and after a nap on the couch, she was ready to crawl right into bed.

“Yes, yes, we’re sure,” Nic drawled. “And you can see in three… two…”

On one, Nic removed his hands, and Wendy blinked her eyes open.

She gasped. “Holy shit, it’s huge!”

“That’s what I like to hear,” Griffith said, standing against the wall across from the foot of the bed, arms crossed and a pleased grin curling his lips.

She didn’t realize Griffith had drawn up the plans for such a large bed. And the mattress was covered in a new set of sheets, and all the blankets and pillows she’d brought with. It looked like the comfiest bed she’d ever seen in her life.

Wendy took a step forward, planning to dive face-first into the comfort, but paused. Her gaze flitted to Griffith, who just waved a hand.

“Well? Go for it.”

The grin curled her lips, and she took a few short barefoot steps before launching herself into the air and coming down on the mattress. She laughed as the mattress bounced beneath her and rolled over, sitting up and pausing.

Because four sets of eyes were on her, and she flushed. “It’s lovely. Thank you so much,” she said, refusing to ruin the sweetness by adding her tears to the mix. But her heart was thumping in a tangle of emotions, and no one had ever done anything so sweet for her.

None of the money the alphas had spent, none of the baubles and shiny things compared to the thoughtfulness of the men in front of her.

“Of course,” Griffith said, dipping his head politely. She wasn’t sure what his intentions were with Nic, but she had to admit he seemed like a good alpha.

“Does it feel more like a nest now?” Nic asked, leaning against the doorjamb.

“It certainly looks like one,” Tate said, against the far wall with Arlo.

“Agreed,” Arlo interjected. “As lovely as the omega it’s for.”

Her cheeks pinkened at Arlo’s words and she rolled her eyes in his direction. He barked out a small laugh and winked, sending butterflies through her belly.

Crossing her legs, she tugged a blanket over her and hummed. “I think it’s just missing…”

The scent of Nic and Griffith in the room was so strong, she couldn’t help but miss the other two.

“Your pillow,” she said, pointing to Tate. “And I want your blanket.” She swung her finger to Arlo. “I’ll trade,” she offered.

Wendy had never seen two alphas move so fast in their lives. Tate and Arlo practically scrambled from the room, disappearing around the corner with a scuffle.

Griffith snorted, slapping a hand over his mouth and laughing as the door to their room slapped open.

“I’ll take your shirt,” she said in his direction.

Griffith stopped laughing, cleared his throat, and left the room.

Nic chuckled and walked over to her. “What? Don’t need a pair of socks from me?”

Wendy snickered, her cheeks flushing. “Why would I need that when I’ll have the real thing right next to me?” She tugged him onto the bed next to her, and he sat beside her just as Tate and Arlo rushed back into the room.

“Yaaay,” Wendy chirped as they presented her with a blanket and pillow.

Arlo dramatically bent at the waist, arms outstretched in front of him with the blanket draped across his arms. “An offering for the princess,” he drawled.

“Such a smartass,” she warned, but in the end, they pulled more giggles out of her than she knew she had the energy for.

Griffith returned with a final offering, a shirt that he said, “Isn’t atrociously smelly but definitely worn.”

Wendy was happy with her haul and arranged it on the bed. Yes, Griffith watched her shove his shirt under Tate’s pillow and wrap herself in Arlo’s blanket and tug Nic back onto the bed with her. Was the fucker trying to escape? She wanted Nic to stay with her.
