“He’s the stubborn one!” she argued.
“Oh, there’s no doubt about that,” Arlo said with a chuckle. “So, how do you plan to bring this up to them?”
Wendy paled. “I… I haven’t thought that far ahead.”
The kitten twitched in her sleep, and Wendy watched her be adorable for a second.
Then she sat up.
“You! You can help me figure it out!” she said.
“Do what now?” Arlo asked.
“You’re great at grand gestures, just look at her!” she said, holding the cat up for them to see her cute face.
“That’s because we adore you, and we know what you like,” Tate teased. He leaned back in bed with his hands beneath his head. “But okay, we’ll help.”
“We will?” Arlo asked, sounding unconvinced.
“Damn right. We’ll help you plan the best damned bond proposal there ever was. Second, of course, to only one other.”
“Yours?” Wendy teased, lying down between them again.
Arlo and Tate shared a look, doing that cute bonded thing where they didn’t need words to speak.
Wendy wanted that.
“Nah, there were no grand gestures. We just… did it.”
“Then whose?” she asked, frowning.
Tate rolled over, propping his arm beneath his head and staring down at her.
Arlo mirrored him, and Wendy’s cheeks flushed at the uninterrupted attention.
“Ours,” they said at the same time.
Wendy’s heart kicked into overdrive, pounding against her chest as their confession sank in. They wanted to bond her?
“Me? You want… but your bond?” It was so special! She didn’t want to get in the way.
“Will be even better with you there right between us,” Tate said.
“But not right now,” Arlo digressed.
Tate nodded in agreement. “Yeah, not tonight. Just… in the future. Whenever you’re ready. We just…”
“Wanted to put it out on the table.”
“Or bed, as it is,” Tate teased.
Wendy chuckled at the pair of them, and leaned over to kiss Tate before she mirrored the affection with Arlo. At some point her chuckles turned to more tears, and Arlo groaned before pulling her and the kitten and all onto his chest. “Not again.”
“Still not sad,” she blubbered, relaxing between them as Tate warmed her back.
“So… that’s a yes, right?” Tate teased.
Another giggle squeezed its way between her tears. “Yes, it’s a yes. Of course. I love you both,” she cried.
