His knot pressed, stretching her open until it popped inside—and she felt even fuller. Her and Nic’s shouts blended together.

Her last orgasm hadn’t even subsided, but that didn’t matter because Griffith’s knot only intensified it, and tears spilled over her cheeks at the relief.

“Fuck—I can’t—” Nic said, voice as wrecked as hers, and his fingers dug into her leg alongside Griffith’s as he began to pulse inside her.

He came, flooding her with his hot release, and Griffith’s knot was there to trap it inside her. She didn’t think it was even possible to feel any more full.

Nic mouthed at her shoulder, dragging his lips across her skin. “You feel absolutely perfect, Wendy, holy shit,” he breathed.

But then Grif stirred his hips against hers, barking out a curse before he spilled within her as well. They rocked together, stars practically dancing against her vision as her alpha and beta filled her up, as his knot teased her sweet spot, the never ending aftershocks igniting again and again.

When they finally stilled, Wendy still pulsed around them but she clawed at their hands before they could even think about moving again. “Too much,” she slurred.

Grif tilted her head up to his, and she blinked wetness away. His expression softened, and the sweetness, the affection, the care she found there made her cry all over again.

They curled around her, Nic peppering her shoulders and head with kisses, whispering sweet nothings that were better than anything she’d ever heard.

Powerful words welled up on her tongue, but she bit them down, not wanting to say something she wasn’t ready for. So she shivered and shook and cried between them—happiness and sadness and elation and realization all swirling through her.

Tate and Arlo piled close, framing the alphas, unable to get too close, but they made sure she knew they were there too.

By the time Griffith’s knot deflated, Wendy slumped between them, shivered as he slid his cock from her. Nic followed suit, and she snapped her legs closed, trying and failing to keep their release within her.

“You okay there, Wendy?” Arlo asked, amusement peppering his tone.

“Shut the fuck up,” she sniffled, bewildered that even after all these emotions he was still able to pull a smile out of her, despite how watery it was.

I never want to leave.

With that damning set of words sliding through her mind, Wendy let her eyes closed and didn’t even wait to clean herself up before exhaustion took her under.

Chapter 41

NIC

Exhaustion dragged at his bones as he took the stairs to the second floor.

Even though the past three days had probably been the best he could remember, he’d never been so ready to snuggle up in the nest with Wendy and the others.

After Wendy fell asleep and they gently cleaned her up, they’d all fallen asleep covered in sweat and probably a little cum.

In solidarity, you know.

But now that she was awake and freshly showered, her heat dissipated, happy and eating with the most beautiful glow about her, he felt comfortable stepping away for just a moment.

Only a moment. He felt out of place outside the nest and wanted nothing more than to return.

But that first night had melted into days before he knew it, and he had a business to take care of. He only wanted to check his phone, make sure the gym was still standing. This was the longest he’d been away from his business since he’d taken over and then saved enough money to start the remodel.

With Ashley at the helm, backed by the crew he’d hired, Nic never ran into any problems. He was lucky like that.

So with the others all blissed out in the nest, Nic took a moment to sneak upstairs. His phone was tucked in his bag, and it took the longest time to fish around before he wrapped his fingers around the device.

As he clicked it to life, row after row of missed calls and texts bombarded him, some he recognized, some with no contact saved.

His stomach twisted into a knot as he dialed one he knew would be there, heart racing in time with the ring tone. Each ring vibrated his eardrum as he waited for the manager he’d left in charge to answer.

She picked up with a click and a rushed, “Nic! We’ve all been trying to reach you—”
