Her cheeks flushed with the same warmth that was slowly building along with her pulse. Nohen was right. She wanted nothing more than to see her beta and her alpha together.
Not only for her own selfish reasons either. But also because… she gulped. Because as an omega she wanted her pack to be one.
“As much as I would love to put Nohen in his place,” Emerson practically growled, “I don’t want you to ever question that you’re the centerpiece here in our little band of misfits.”
Lyric’s cheeks heated. “You can put Nohen in his place. I won’t mind.”
Nohen sputtered. “Now hold on a second…”
“What?” Lyric asked, shrugging and trying to hold her smile back.
Emerson chuckled, and the smile curling his lips was one similar to a wolf who’d spotted prey. “You did beat me at all those games without telling me you were a pro-gamer.”
Nohen grinned sheepishly. “So what? You never asked.”
A growl tumbled out of Emerson, and he backed Nohen up to the bed before pressing him down to the mattress with a palm on his chest. Emerson loomed over him.
“That’s not the point,” he growled, and slid his palm north to wrap around Nohen’s throat loosely.
Lyric almost swallowed her tongue. She remembered that same palm covering her mouth not too long ago, muffling her whimpers. Would she get to see Nohen in the same position?
She melted at just the thought, and slowly made her way to the head of the bed, sliding onto the mattress silently.
“What are you doing?” Emerson inquired.
Lyric shifted her glance to meet his green gaze. “What?” she asked.
“He lied to you too, get down here.”
“He didn’t lie to me,” she defended without thinking.
Emerson stood up and crossed his arms. “So you knew too? You both lied then?”
Lyric tried so hard to hide her smile. But she was too excited to see what would happen.
“Maybe?” she replied, lifting her hands in an innocent gesture. “Like Nohen said, you never asked.”
Nohen chuckled, shaking the bed slightly, and Lyric was so distracted by how pretty he was she didn’t notice Emerson’s quick movement until it was too late. With a hand wrapped around her ankle, he pulled her down the bed next to Nohen.
“So you both need to be put in your place then?”
Lyric giggled—she couldn’t help it—at least until Emerson loomed over her with both hands planted on either side of her head. He was far too close, and her giggles died on a gasp.
“I can’t help but feel like you’re not taking me seriously.”
Probably because she wasn’t. She was just horny.
But she didn’t want to tell Emerson that.
“Fine,” Emerson murmured before pressing a single kiss to her lips. “That’s all you get until you ask for more.”
“Huh?” she asked, but he and his warmth were gone already.
When she cleared her vision and sat up, Emerson was leaning over Nohen, sharing the lips she’d just tasted with her beta, pulling a gasp from him. Watching Nohen’s fingers tighten into a fist in Emerson’s shirtsleeve, she sat up, a question on her lips.
But the question, and all other thoughts for that matter, totally vacated her brain at the same moment Emerson began unbuttoning Nohen’s shirt. He made quick work of the buttons and rid the beta of his jeans and boxer briefs just as quickly.
Lyric wet her suddenly dry lips and itched to join the fun, but she knew Emerson wanted Nohen all to himself, even if just for a moment.
