“Sup lover boy.” I smiled, cause I had it just as bad as he did.
“Nigga fuck you. Where y’all niggas at?” he sounded pissed but I knew it was only one person that could have him feeling a way.
“Shit, I’m riding solo right now about to pick up your brother-in-law and head to the chop shop.”
“Bet, well I got this nigga Hakeem with me. We are already here.” I pulled up not putting my car in park and watched Debo step off the sidewalk and opened my door. He looked like he was half sleep and irritated that I made him come out the house.
“Nigga wake up, you should be on full alert all the time. This is what being in the streets is about. You don’t get to rest and get a full eight hours of fucking sleep.” He put his seatbelt on as I zoomed off and headed straight to the chop shop that we had in Compton CA. Chief Wilson bitch ass was hanging upside down from the ceiling waiting for me to put a cap in his ass.
“Shit, you should have told me that you felt like getting your manicured hands dirty today nigga. I could’ve been deep inside of my bitch right now.” Asia’s pretty ass face popped up inside of my head and I had to force her out.
“I just bought this suit and I’m not trying to get the shit dirty. Plus, I need to holler at you about something.”
“Bet.” I hung up the phone and made my way to see what it was now that Ream had up his sleeves. Nigga was smart as fuck he was always thinking of a master plan and constantly had some shit up his sleeves. Every other month he had new ways of bringing in more money when we were already filthy rich. Niggas didn’t want to dare step to him or the dynasty because they knew how hard I was coming and the team. I had shit so organized on my end with the streets, I found myself growing bored and was thinking of getting into buying up property and starting up my own establishments to keep myself busy.
I wasn’t a suit and tie nigga, but I definitely needed to open my mind up more to some business shit. Ream kept preaching to me about looking at the bigger picture beyond drugs. Don’t get me wrong, I lived by the gun and would one day die by it. Getting with Asia and seeing how she talked to me and encouraged me to want more for myself, I saw that shit changing a little. I was gone stay a thugged-out hood nigga, but I needed to add more to myself other than killing niggas and slanging big drugs. I parked in the back of the chop shop, and we hopped out and made our way through the back door. I didn’t come in and speak as I pulled my nine out of my back pocket and emptied the clip in Chief Wilsons head. Blood flew everywhere landing all over my black attire.
“Crazy ass nigga! You wasn’t playing about getting back between ol’ girl’s legs. You really strung out and sprung.” Ream inspected himself as he talked shit.
“Hakeem and I are about to hit up a bar. You niggas tryna join, you got like what? An hour left of free time before you have to check back in?” He chuckled as I texted on my phone the code for the cleaning crew to get here and dispose of Wilson’s dead body.
“Nah, you can take your brother and law with you. I told you what I’m on. What you wanted to talk to me about.” I raised my brows up at him and wished I would’ve brought my bottle of Remy along with me. I took the black in mild from behind my ear and lit it up.
“I need that tag thing you put on Asia.” He kept a straight serious face as I played dumb to make sure I was hearing him correctly.
“What tag thing nigga?”
“The Apple air tag shit, I need like five of them bitches for Mattea! She got me fucked up if she think she gone keep doing this disappearing and reappearing bullshit she been on. I knew I should’ve got her a blue diamond ring to trace her ass for emergencies.” He looked off at nothing in particular. “She wouldn’t take the damn blue diamond though. She knows I use it for the team in case of emergencies. I need some shit that’s real sufficient. Put it in her car or some shit.” Hakeem and I looked at each other confused as Debo gave Ream a funny look.
“You really love the fuck outta my big sister annoying ass, don’t you?” The shop got quiet as Hakeem burst out laughing. I followed up with a low chuckle while Ream gave a blank expression.
“I guess I do lil nigga. You need to put a bug in her ear too, if you see any nigga that’s not my lil cousin Keem around her you better let me know.” He said seriously as I shook my head at his lovesick acting ass.
“Nigga, you better go to the Apple store and buy them muthafuccas like I did.” I left them niggas standing there going back in forth and left out the shop. My mind was on Asia and only Asia.
Chapter Fifty
REAM
I sat in a meeting with about three hot producers and the whole team that I had in charge of running my record company. Shit was boring, all they did was pitch ideas and present upcoming, underground artist. I had a long meeting before this one I was in with Solo and the new niggas he had brought on to the dynasty. My mind kept going back to Mattea and how it had been four days since I got to see are talk to her. I thought about popping up at her house but was tired of forcing myself upon her. A tap at the glass door got everyone’s attention as Ms. Summers fine as strutted in looking plump in delicious. Her perfume filled the room and when she made eye contact with me, I saw that same look that Crystal and Kat had when they would look at me.
“Mr. Powers, sorry to interrupt. There’s a lady demanding that she speak to you immediately. I told her to make an appointment, but she refused. She’s being very loud and obnoxious down in the lobby. She said it was a family emergency concerning your god kids.” Summers spoke fast, like she was shaken up. My mind went to Solace’s wife, and I had to shake the thought because I still was in contact with her. She never questioned what happened to her husband. She actually seemed relieved, so I had to think long and hard on who the fuck had the balls to come up to my shit and demand to see me. I shook hands with everybody then buttoned my suit jacket and excused myself. I told Summers to have security bring her to my office.
Entering my office, I took a seat and lit a blunt, turning in my chair, I took in the city view of downtown Los Angeles. The streets were littered with people, and everybody seemed like they were in a rush to make it somewhere today. It was Friday, nearing five p.m. traffic was congested and all you heard was people honking their horns like it would get them to where they were going faster.
“Ream!” I cringed before I turned around to acknowledge her. I told her never to return or make herself seen. Taking a long hit from my blunt, I turned and my office chair and placed my gaze on Kat. All I could do was look disappointed, Kat was once a sexy plus size chick and now she looked like a fucking crack head. Her light complexion had dark spots all over, she smelled like piss and shit. Her hair was unkempt and matted down.
“Katrina.” I said lowly. I didn’t feel bad for her at all, how could a person be so fucking weak and selfish when it came to their kids.
“Oh, Ream! I missed you so fucking much baby!” She fell to the ground and started to sob. I remained seated and unmoved. It was clear to me that Kat was no longer sniffing cocaine, she upgraded to either smoking the shit or trying a new drug.
“Leave us for a couple of minutes. Y’all can stand outside my office, until I get y’all.” I told my security as I stood up and removed my suit jacket. They quickly nodded their heads and turned for the door.
“I told you pussy ass bitches that he knew me!” she yelled and smiled. It never ceased to amaze me how a dope addict could go from crying to smiling in a matter of seconds. Once the door closed, I pulled my gun from its holster.
“Kat, what did I tell you?” I spoke lowly as I stalked around her like she was my prey.
“I don’t remember, but Ream, I need you so bad. You’re the only man I ever love. When you fired me, things start falling apart. I lost my babies! Children services took them and now my aunt won’t even let me see them.” She scratched at her arm and stood back up to her feet. The smell damn near knocked me down to my own damn knees. I stepped back from her, but it still didn’t make the smell go away.
