“Then why did you have me come all the way over here Christian?”

“Ream, that’s what you can call me for now. You gotta stop being so hot and cold with me Reaper. I dig the fuck out of you girl, like you captured my attention, you damn near was capturing something else until I felt the type of energy you was on after the mission.” He paused from talking to take a deep hit from his blunt, he inhaled it and blew it in my direction.

“The thing about me, is, I’m a boss baby. I ain’t never been pressed for pussy in my life. I done experienced all kinds of pussy. Your pussy was very unique, I will admit. That ain’t what got me checking for you though. You rare as fuck and beautiful, I will never fight against how I feel as a man and what I’m thinking by lying to myself. You, on the other hand, got the chance to experience a new feeling with me, and you’re confused and scared. I respect that.” I stood to my feet abruptly, my temper was starting to flare.

“Stop trying to fucking read me, Ream! I’m not some special fucking nut case you can figure out!” I yelled as he remained calm, watching me intently.

“Sit down and watch your tone with me.” His voice had gotten serious. “We having an adult conversation sweetheart, I ain’t trying to figure your complicated ass out right now. I would love to know you on a deeper level. See, everybody got some shit they fear.”

“I don’t fear shit but God.” I stood my ground.

“Oh, yea? I saw the fear when your brother’s life was on the line baby. You can’t stand here and tell me, you don’t fear losing your father, your siblings. You fear embarrassment, thinking everybody will judge you for the mental shit you got going on up in here,” he pointed to his head for emphasis. “You don’t want nobody feeling sorry for you, I get that. Remember, you ain’t a nigga Reaper. You are a beautiful woman and ain’t shit wrong with a man making you feel complete. Nothing wrong with me making you feel your soft, feminine, and delicate side. A nigga like me, can’t sit up and convince you for a living that I’m digging you. I be wanting your fine ass up under me twenty-four seven.” He ashed his blunt.

“I mean, I really like yo mean ass and dig you. I can’t press you though, I got a lot of other things to press concerning the shit I’m running and how my dynasty has hit a small snag. I don’t even know if we ever were to become something, how I would do in a committed relationship. I never saw myself settling down with a woman no time soon. Then you came along, capturing a nigga, fucking with my mind by your dialect, the way you carry yourself. I can go on and on.” I took a seat and calmed down a bit.

“I just think it’s a bad idea for you and I to tangle on that level.” I stated nervously. I never had a man expose his feelings in the way that Ream was, and it was making me uncomfortable.

“I think it’s a bad idea too, you not mature enough. I think you feel like it’s a good idea for different niggas to continue to lick between those thick thighs, make that pussy cum and keep moving along like you don’t exist. I think I’m just too much of a real nigga for you anyway and you can’t handle how I make you feel emotionally, physically, or sexually.” He licked his lips and smiled.

“No other nigga will give you the feeling that I have blessed upon you Reaper. Just remember that shit.” I notice he was dressed down in sweats and a plain shirt.

“Have you ever looked deep inside your dark reckless soul and tried to figure out what you really like to do?” he raised his left bushy brow and waited for me to respond.

“My soul might be reckless but it ain’t dark,” I responded lowly while looking up into his hazel brown eyes.

“You love killing people Mattea, that’s some dark shit. I kill people because its apart of the game. That doesn’t mean I love to do it.” Now he had me in defense mode.

“You love running one of the deadliest crime organizations, that’s some dark shit too. So, tell me, Ream, what is it that you really love to do?” He eyed me with humor dancing inside of his pretty brown eyes and cracked a genuine smile.

“I’m glad you asked, outside of all of this… I love spending time with my family, letting my boss persona guard down, and simply being myself. I love traveling on my free time and entering high paid chess tournaments. It makes me feel normal and reminds me of staying focused and ten steps ahead of shit.” He put his blunt out in the ashtray and picked up a bottle of water.

“One day, when you ready to try some next level type of shit with the opposite sex. I want you to be able to tell me, what it is you love to do too and where you see yourself in ten years.” Before I could respond, Ream’s door was being kicked in. I went to reach for my gun as he shook his head no and nodded towards the couch. I stuffed my gun in there and watched the police knock shit over as Crystal walked in with a bright smile on her face.

“I’ve been waiting on you my friend, save the speech and place me in cuffs bitch.” Ream stood to his feet, not resisting as he placed his hands behind his back with a content look on his face.

“Christian Joel Powers, you are under arrest.”

Chapter Forty

RELLIANAH

My men and I pulled right in front of the police station. I looked at myself in my compact mirror and made sure my lipstick was painted on perfectly. My eyes had turned gray, I was pissed off and had to maintain my cool. Having eyes that changed colors depending on my mood, was a gift and a curse all in one. Tapping my fresh set of nails against the door frame, I waited for my driver to open my door. Once he opened the door a fresh breeze hit my face. Taking a deep breath and holding it in before releasing it, I placed my red bottom heels on the concrete and stepped out of my vehicle. We trekked to the front door as my guards jogged ahead of me since I was walking pretty fast. Opening the glass doors, I walked in as all eyes landed on me.

“Get me your chief immediately.” My voice bounced off the walls.

“No need for them to get me, Mrs. Powers, I’m right here.” Chief Wilson appeared with a smug look on his face as he stood in front of his office. I made my way towards him as officers tried to step in my path to stop me. Snapping my fingers one of my men handed me an envelope.

“If one of your men put their bacon-eating fingers on me, I’m pretty sure in two weeks your department will be out of budget, paying for their funerals Chief Wilson.” I smiled.
