“That’s good, but at the same time, it’s not good to focus on what the next man got going on. That’s too close to counting his pockets. I say you need to focus more, because I’m not understanding why a rookie bitch that Hakeem put on has already went on a mission that I didn’t approve of. Seem like she got y’all nigga’s smitten.”
“Who told you that?” I gritted.
“Nigga does it matter? Do I have to remind you that this is my shit? Nothing passes go, without me hearing or knowing about it. Which is why, I don’t need you informing me about Solo’s side of the business.” Ashing his blunt he looked away and told one of his guards that he wanted a glass of cognac. That young-looking guard ran off to get what he requested as he focused back on me waiting for a response.
“I trained her well and she’s lethal.” That’s all I could say. I didn’t like the way he put me on the spot.
“Her pussy must be lethal if she got you making dumb decisions. Solace, you my boy and I got love for you. I would hate to have to put you on ice if you make another rookie mistake like the one you made. You went months without informing me about this new chick being put on a high-risk mission. I don’t need shit falling back in my lap because someone spotted her or know that she took out the got damn mayor of Atlanta. So, I hope you did train her well, I hope the pussy hasn’t blinded you.”
“She a virgin, Reaper ain’t on that type of time with me. She’s just real cool.” I reasoned not trying to reveal much.
“Nigga a virgin? So, you ain’t hit and she got you making dumb decisions because you trying to break her in? Leave her alone, I don’t need an emotional woman on the team because you done took her virginity. Focus on your wife and kids’ nigga.” He cocked his brow up at me.
“It ain’t shit like that, and she far from emotional. Like Hakeem said, you need to meet her.”
Nodding his head, he lightened the mood asking how my kids were doing. My kids were his God-kids, and he took pride in them. Ream spoiled my two kids like they were his which made me respect him even more. When we stood to leave, he mentioned Mattea again, which had me kind of tight.
“So, she a virgin? You ain’t at least taste the pussy?” he smiled as he put his arm around my shoulder. Solo was now walking behind us in front of the guards, and I heard him chuckle lowly.
“I tasted the pussy, that’s about it. I wasn’t impressed because she smokes cigarettes shit tasted funny. So, trust me when I say, I ain’t sweating that girl. Don’t want her at all.”
That was some pussy shit for me to say. I didn’t give a fuck though, I had to throw salt on Mattea so Ream didn’t find any interest in her. Ream couldn’t stand a woman that smoked cigarettes and acted like a nigga, so I knew for a fact his interest in meeting her and possibly fucking her was now gone. I told a flat out lie because Mattea’s pussy tasted like candy.
“I can’t believe you put yo’ mouth on a woman that smokes those cancer sticks. That’s why I don’t smoke behind you niggas at all.”
I laughed off what he said. I made my way to my whip and didn’t start the car because I was trying to call Mattea. She sent me straight to voice mail and it pissed me all the way off. I needed to tighten up and focus more. The last thing I wanted was for Ream to question the way I handled businesses.
Chapter Three
MATTEA
I couldn’t wait to get home and unwind; I hated flying out and going through the airport. It was a chaotic place to be, and my anxiety was always high. I sat in the passenger seat of my best friend Hakeem’s car, looking at the big ass engagement ring that Chad had given me. I wondered how much it was worth. I was going to hold onto it for a while, then cash out on it later. My phone had rung for the fifth time since Hakeem picked me up, and I decided to turn the shit off. I wouldn’t need it for the next couple of days. It was my work phone. I was happy, I never gave Solace my personal number.
“You know, you should stop messing with that nigga.” Hakeem reasoned. I gave him a knowing look.
“Trust Keem, I already know. I got drunk and Solace lips that night looked magnificent.” I chuckled looking out the window. I was happy to finally be back in Cali.
“How’s everything going with your health? You didn’t have no episodes while out there, did you?” I shook my head no because Hakeem always worried about me. We had been tight since middle school, and I loved him like one of my siblings. The more I learned about him the more intrigued I became. His family was powerful like mine, so we had a lot in common. We constantly vented to each other and when my father cut me off financially because I didn’t want to go to college after high school. I started taking paid hits on dope boys through Hakeem at the age of nineteen. Hakeem was paid and was already a part of the Blue Diamond Dynasty. I kept telling him I was good on that until he told me how much money I could be making.
I left that part out when he introduced me to Solace. So, in Solace’s mind, he was the one that trained me and put me in the position to be one of the biggest assassins. That shit was just in me, I had a lot of unexplained anger inside of me and enjoyed squeezing a trigger to release. Only thing I refused to do was kill innocent people.
“That’s good, I want you to go to the club with me tonight. We can get out and have a good time.” He looked over at me and smiled as I rolled my eyes and took a Newport long out of the box and sparked it. Hakeem rolled his windows down; he hated the smell.
“You need to dress up too, none of the tomboy shit you like to rock.” He chuckled, but I gave his ass a serious look while blowing smoke his way.
“Then I’m not going. I just went all those damn months rocking stilettos and tight-ass clothes. Nigga please!” I flicked my cigarette out the window and stared at my nails. I couldn’t wait to go to the nail shop and get my short French tips back. I hated long ass nails, trying to take a shit and wipe your ass was crucial for a woman like me that wasn’t used to having them. Growing up, my dad dressed my sister and I and boy clothes. Kayori would throw us on a dress every now and then, but we always were dressed as little boys. My little sister Kachella embraced her girlie side, while I was still stuck on sneakers and baggy-looking jeans. I loved graphic shirts and black Levi pants that kind of fitted me well. My fresh Air Force Ones never got old to me; I had a hundred pairs to keep them fresh. My Chuck Taylors were also my favorite. Now that I was back home in my comfort zone and no longer on a mission, I couldn’t wait to raid my closet and put on what I liked to wear the most.
“Okay man, wear what you please. I don’t see how you gone ever get a man always covering up those curves.” He laughed a little and I smiled because even wearing loose-fitting clothes, a nigga had to be blind to not see all this ass I had. I was five foot ten, with long ass thick thighs. I had ass for days with C-cup titties that sat up perfectly. I didn’t look like Megan the Stallion, but people said my shape was very similar to hers. Niggas was on me tough I never lost my virginity because I never felt like it was the right time. All these niggas were nasty horn dogs since they stayed so thirsty with their tongues all out. I let a couple of them drink from my fountain and sent their dog asses on their way.
“What’s up with you though pretty boy Keem? You always worried about me settling down…when you gon’ wife you a broad?” I smiled, teasing him was always my thing. To the world, I was a mean ass, weird kind of chick. I always stayed to myself, so if it wasn’t my brothers or my sister and Hakeem, you wouldn’t get to know much about me. They understood my moods, and how I was as a person.
Hakeem was very tall and lanky, with a pretty boy, baby face. His tattoos gave him a thugged-out look. He kept some fresh ass cornrows going to the back stopping at his shoulder. If his hair wasn’t braided, he made sure to keep a fresh lineup and when one of his hoes couldn’t braid him up, he would rock wild curls all over his head. The wild curl look made him look even more attractive, with his smooth brown skin.
“You know me, I don’t love these hoes. If one girl in particular gave me a chance, I would definitely risk it all.” He turned on my street and I got super excited to be able to finally be in my comfort zone. My dad rode me so hard that when I turned eighteen, I saved up all my allowance money just to move and be out on my own.
“Why you can’t tell me who she is? I tell you everything.” I looked at him seriously. I wanted to know who had him ready to settle down but wasn’t trying to give him a chance. Hakeem was a gentleman, but he was still a dog ass nigga. Whoever the chick was, had made a good decision by curving him and saving herself the heartbreak.
“Like I always tell you, when the time comes, and she gives me a chance. It’ll happen, she too busy looking for love in all the wrong places.” Nodding my head, I leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek and reached for the door handle.
