I watched my mom take careful steps our way as she puffed hard on her cigarette. Worry was evident in her eyes, and I couldn't blame her. Hurt could turn a person angry or bitter, and revenge is something that satisfies it all in one. I wanted to make Michael pay for all the bullshit he had caused this family and also make myself feel better about all the shit he did to me. My ego was battered. It felt like my own little brother had caught me slipping. The sane part of me, Praise, kept saying no to it all with Michael, and I could see the reasoning behind it. My mom and Stone talking me out of killing him only gave me more of an excuse not to because deep down, no matter how foul he was living, I just couldn't see myself murking the nigga.

Taking my gun out of my pocket, I handed it to Leandra. She gave me a confused look as I sighed and rubbed my hand down my waves. If she needed reassurance, I was willing to give it to her. I wasn’t going to kill my brother, and that was final.

"Just take it, alright? This is my reassurance that I won’t kill my lil brother even though I feel some type of way. You got to learn one day to trust me more, Ma. I’ve always proved and kept my word with you, so I’m not gon’ stop now. I'm only going to beat his ass for violating you, and then I'm gon’ drag his ass to rehab and keep my foot on this nigga’s neck until he gets his shit together. We will all figure that shit out from there. Y'all my family, no matter how much y'all irk a nigga. I love y’all, okay?"

I wiped the tears from her chubby cheeks and pulled her close for a hug. She embraced me tightly and tried to rock me from side to side. I was too bulky for all that, but I allowed her to do so. I already knew when I got in the car with Stone that he was gon’ to have a stupid ass look plastered on his face. After I walked my mom to the car where Brick and Dion were, I briskly walked to Stone’s car and hopped in.

"You got the address, nigga?"

"Yea," I mumbled. I could picture the silly grin he was giving me and the laughter he was holding back.

"You not gon’ look at me, nigga?" he chuckled.

"Nigga, no! Don't start fuckin with me, Stone. I don't feel like playing right now. I already got to prepare to fuck my bones and shit up, a nigga getting too old to be beating niggas’ asses. So, I'm gon’ two-piece him, and you gon’ stomp him."

Taking the blunt from his fingers, I inhaled and then exhaled.

"Look at me, nigga," Stone chuckled. I went ahead and got the shit out the way. I regretted the shit soon as my eyes landed on his big goofy looking ass.

"Oh, Momma! I need love too!" He faked hugged himself as he made funny faces forcing me to laugh when I didn't want to.

"Hey everyone, look at me. I’ma momma’s boy now!" he continued with his bullshit. I choked hard on the weed as I barked out a laugh along with his stupid ass.

“That’s enough, nigga. Now keep straight and turn right on Grand Street," I tried to get back serious as I handed him the blunt. Nodding his head, he straightened his posture, and I knew he was still on some fuck shit. As soon as he put the car in drive, a gospel song started playing. Two minutes into driving, he started trying to hit the high notes with the song.

"Take me to the kinggggg! I don’t have much to bringgggg! My heart is torrrrnnn in pieeecceeesss!"

I turned the shit off fast as he joked the rest of the way. I couldn't even front. It felt good being on better terms with my momma. Shit wasn't gon’ be A1 perfect, but we were working towards something, and that was alright with me.

"All bullshit aside, nigga, I'm proud of you. The family shit is a good look and fits on both of us, brother." He tapped his chest twice, and I did the same as I gave him dap.

"Say, man, before I forget. That nigga from around the way want to sit down with us in Vegas, and I told him he had to come out here if he needed to meet with us urgently. He said he would. The nigga is on the same level as us, well higher now. He plans on taking over, paying us out, so he ain’t gotta cut us no percentage every month.”

"Nigga, who the fuck you talking ‘bout?" I questioned as I rubbed my beard.

"That nigga, Serial. His real name is Pharoah. See, you’ve been slacking. The legal world is busier than the street shit... We can go fully legal and back out of all this shit, get a big ass cut, focus on our family and be legit. No more looking over our shoulders and all the extra shit."

"Nigga, we go’ always have to look over our shoulders no matter what, but I get what you’re saying. I’ve been slacking ‘cause the baby and Tea been running me low. That’s the nigga you said had all of down south on lock? I heard about the nigga. He’s a cold ass nigga. I heard he got OCD and hated people touching him. They say he dates nothing but snow bunnies or black broads that act white. I read all into the nigga when you first brought him up."

"Yea," he said, coming to a stop as I took in my surroundings.

"Alright, set that shit up. Let’s make a move."

"Fa’sho. Oh yea, and umm.... I told him he could buy the warehouse too."

I whipped my head around fast as hell, looking at him like he lost his fucking mind.

"Nigga, it’s mine too. You don't need any exotic fish and all that bullshit. nigga. Either we turn it into a company, or you let it go. We can profit either way. To help yourself more as far as mental wise, nigga, you can’t be torturing and killing people. Nia and Quanna’s deaths were justified, but all that killing people for dumb ass reasons is over with. We’re all starting a new page, my nigga."

"Nigga, who is the oldest, you or me?" I hopped out of the car and turned my nose up at my surroundings. We were on the east side of L.A. The front lawn to the grass was unkempt, as litter decorated the front lawn. The house looked like a deserted trap house, but it’s where my mom said we could find him.

"We will talk all about the warehouse later," I told Stone as he nodded. I waited for Brick and Dion to help my mom out of the car. I knew she wouldn't stay put. Taking a deep breath, I made my way to the front door as everyone else followed.

Chapter Forty-One

BEAST

I let my mom knock on the door as the rest of us stood back. I got super anxious to see the look on Michael’s face. I wasn’t here to baby that nigga. I only brought my mom, so she could do the baby shit with him. Once he opened this door, my size eleven foot was going up his ass. I was gon’ politely ask my mom to make her way to the car and wait for us to carry his ass out so he could check in the rehab facility I found him in West Hollywood.
