If the threat from Useless wasn’t hanging over them, Torrent would be ecstatic. That wasn’t a word he would have ever used to describe his life before Cecilia, but with her, it fit.
They’d taken things slowly, but Cecilia had told him this morning that she was ready to be his completely. They’d messed around with her grinding on him, bringing herself to orgasm, along with taking their tops off and letting him kiss and worship her breasts, but he’d held off from taking the last step.
She’d been through so much, and he wanted to minimize the possibility of a flashback. Her words this morning, saying she was ready and it was time for him to be her husband in word and deed, had him fighting a hard-on all day.
To get Maverick to quit teasing him, he’d given in and punched his VP in the face. The fucker had just laughed like a loon at making Torrent lose his temper. It was hard to be mad at his best friend when said friend informed Torrent that the teasing had been so Torrent could release some tension.
The Prospect opened the gate as they neared. Torrent backed his bike in and grabbed the packages he’d bought before heading inside. Halloween was tomorrow, and they were having a party with costumes. Calliope had been beside herself, saying she didn’t want the animals left out, which is why he’d ridden to a big box store three towns away to find pet costumes. He only hoped they fit them. He’d gone with a scary theme because what else would he do at the Grave Prowlers’ compound. Monster had a black outfit with legs that made him into a huge spider. Beast had a vampire cape. Reaper had black bat wings, which Torrent was positive would make the Maine Coon cat even scarier-looking. Torrent had gone with a gremlin costume for Shadow because the dog became a psycho if they gave him food after midnight.
For Cecilia and their first night together, he’d bought her a ring with a skull on it that matched his ring for the Grave Prowlers MC. He’d bought her the original ring to protect her. He’d made her his Ol’ Lady as soon as she’d agreed a month ago, but he wanted to commemorate this occasion too.
He walked through the clubhouse to their suite and entered to pandemonium.
“Bad doggy. Bad doggy,” Calliope scolded, shaking her finger in Monster’s face.
Cecilia was leaning against the cabinet, staring at the dog.
“What happened?” Torrent asked, walking close and kissing Cecilia’s forehead.
“I decided I wanted to make apple cobbler for the party tonight. It’s Fall and Halloween. My mom always made it this time of year. I was letting it cool on the counter by the sink. I never dreamed that it wouldn’t be safe,” Cecilia sighed.
Torrent looked at the floor where a non-stick pan lay, licked clean. He stared at Monster, who still had a little bit of cobbler underneath his chin.
“The whole thing?” Torrent grunted.
“Yes,” Cecilia replied, shaking her head. “I’m worried what it will do to his digestive tract. I’m thinking he should sleep in the bathroom tonight, not on our bed.”
Torrent chuckled, “Agreed.”
The last thing he wanted was to have the dog puking on them while they were asleep.
He picked up the pan, handing the bag of animal costumes to Calliope. While she was occupied, he led Cecilia into their bedroom.
He stared at her, pulling the ring out of the bag.
“I know you’re my Ol’ Lady and wife, but this morning, when you said you wanted to be mine completely, I had to commemorate it somehow,” he said, sliding the skull ring onto her finger.
“Oh, Torrent,” she whispered, wrapping her arms around him, leaning her head on his chest. He patted her back, hoping that when he finally had her under him, he could hold off long enough to give his wife the satisfaction she deserved.
Cecilia let Torrent lead her to their rooms. He’d been acting a little strange the last thirty minutes of the party, then suddenly he’d said it was time for them to go.
Dragon and Sally were having Calliope stay in their room tonight. It seemed like a lot of people knew that she and Torrent were finally consummating their vows tonight.
Cecilia appreciated the time that Torrent had given her because tonight felt right. If he would have rushed her after what she’d been through, Cecilia wasn’t sure what would have happened.
Torrent paused at their door, then pushed it open. The lights were off, but the suite was lit by hundreds of candles of all sizes.
“Torrent,” she breathed softly.
“Wanted it special for you,” he grumbled softly.
She turned back to him, nodding. “It is.”
She stared around the room, seeing the planning he’d put into making this special. Rose petals were scattered on the floor, leading to their room. His arms slipped around her from behind.
“You ready to be mine?” he asked, his chin resting on her head.
“Yes, finally,” she said.
