“That does seem a little interesting, doesn’t it, Mav?” Mammoth asked.
“It does,” Mav agreed, pulling out his phone and looking at it. “I don’t even have a notification that the guys are close, and Dragon has been in his office the whole time. Mammoth, would you take Jasmine to Dragon? I’ll be there in a minute. Tell him I want him to hold off questions until we’re all there,” Maverick instructed.
“You got it,” Mammoth nodded, pulling Jasmine along by her arm.
“No! I didn’t do anything. Mammoth, you know you love my mouth,” she pleaded.
“One wet hole’s as good as another. Nothin’ special about yours,” Mammoth said, walking away.
Maverick turned to her, “Are you okay?”
She nodded. “Yes.”
“Prospect just opened the gate,” Fury interjected, looking at his phone.
“Great catch on Jasmine and way to go standing up for yourself. I was surprised Monster didn’t get into it too,” Maverick praised.
“Thank you. I motioned him no. If she would have knocked me down, he would have ignored my command,” Cecilia replied.
“Honey, we’re home,” Bravo called as the guys walked in.
Cecilia turned and ran toward Torrent, throwing her arms around him. His arms wrapped around her.
“Love the hug, but you okay?” he murmured.
She nodded against his cut. She’d stood up to Jasmine, but now that Torrent was here, she didn’t have to be strong. He’d keep them safe.
“I am now,” she whispered, looking up at him.
His mouth quirked in the way she loved. He leaned closer, letting her decide if it was okay until his mouth claimed hers. His touch, his taste wasn’t something to fear. It was his promise of always being her home. They may not have made love or even made out much yet, but Torrent was the man who had saved her and the one she considered hers.
“Dragon’s called Church. We have some issues to deal with,” Maverick interrupted.
Torrent nodded. “You okay if I leave you?” he asked.
“Yes, I’m going to go hang out with Calliope and Sally in her suite,” Cecilia said.
“I’ll walk her up there,” Chey offered.
Torrent nodded. “Okay, I’ll come find you when we’re done.”
“Full sentences. Who is this man who’s taken over Torrent’s body?” Maverick teased.
“Shut it, Flappy Lips,” Torrent grunted.
Chapter Twenty-Two
Torrent waited in Church. Maverick had told him that he wasn’t going to like hearing what happened but to hold his cool until they were done. They were waiting on Mammoth and Fury to return from their errand. Mav hadn’t elaborated on what the errand was.
Fury walked in, followed by Mammoth. “Secured in the Boneyard. My suggestion would be to let her stew a couple days while we do a deep dive on her connections,” Fury said.
Torrent wondered who they were talking about. Once they were seated, Dragon started.
“So, we had a little drama. Torrent and the guys got pulled over by Useless. He was taking them to jail until Gunner let him know they had video of him breaking the taillight. I wish that was the only drama we had to discuss. Mammoth caught the clubhouse drama on video. Torrent, you’re not going to like what you see, but I need you to remember that the guys had Cecilia’s back the whole time,” Dragon announced, motioning to Mammoth.
Video of Cecilia in the clubhouse common room appeared. Listening to Jasmine push Cecilia had Torrent fighting to stay seated. How dare she try to make Cecilia feel less than? Jasmine had only been a hole he used when he needed relief. Cecilia, she was his wife, but over the weeks they’d spent together, he looked forward to sharing his day with her. Her smile when he complimented her food gave him that strange warm feeling in his chest.
When the video finished, Torrent was so proud of Cecilia for standing up for herself. He’d loved seeing Cecilia break Jasmine’s nose. But now, what did they do?
