Everyone at the table was staring at her.
“Thanks, Maura. Head in and get some sleep. Thanks for the call,” she offered.
With that, she hung up.
When she looked over, Honor was curious.
“What? That’s the lady who used to work with Avalon, right? Why do I feel twitchy, Bish? Please don’t say what I think you’re going to say.”
Oh, well, she was going to do just that.
“Yeah, that was Maura, and they found a woman hanging in a tree. They are sending the information.”
Her phone chimed, and she saw the address pop up on her screen.
That wasn’t good enough for her partner. Honor went there, as she normally would.
“How did they find a body?”
Yeah, that as her first question wasn’t shocking at all. If she didn’t know how Avalon worked, she would have thought it too.
Only, she had a unique insight into it.
“It’s going to involve psychic stuff, and you don’t like that. Are you sure you want to know?”
She closed her eyes.
Well, that said it all.
Of course, she didn’t want to know. Only, what choice did she have? This was their circus, and their clowns, so to speak.
“Hit me with it. It’s not like this day could get much worse on any of the fronts, right?”
They all laughed at that.
“Well, now, we’re jinxed,” Tori admitted. “Way to go, Copper.”
Bishop clued her in.
“Avalon likely went into the static, listened to the voices, and pulled information out of it to find this killer. That’s normal for her. She’d find the person in danger and use her gift to help us head off a killer. She’s tracking a killer on that plane with the help of the dead.”
Honor stared at her.
“You’re right. I shouldn’t have asked. I didn’t need to know that.”
Yeah, no shock there.
“I guess we’re going to go find another ‘suicide’ victim so our boss can ride our asses,” Bishop said, kicking back the rest of her coffee.
Tori was curious.
“Can we come? I want to see if any dead are lingering, or if this thing got her too.”
Yeah, Bishop didn’t care.
Honestly, she didn’t have an issue with being seen with the Littlemoons.
Her partner, though?
