She just shrugged at me.

“Does that mean it’s official then?” Dante asked, pouring coffee into his cup. “She said yes?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” I mumbled.

“Ignore him. I did,” Gabriella replied.

“Well, you know it’s not official until the ceremony.”

“Ceremony?” she repeated.

“Don’t worry,” Rachel replied with a wink. “It’s a lot of fun.”

“Yeah. That’s if I turn up.”

“Oh, you’ll turn up,” Gabriella said confidently.

“I wouldn’t be so sure about that. You’re a turncoat.”

“Yeah, but I’m your turncoat.”

Now that brought a smile to my lips.

Chapter 63

Gabriella

The club gathered in the pub not long after breakfast and immediately me and Vienna were called to the front.

I noticed that everyone was suited and booted in their riding gear and shot Vienna a puzzled glance.

He just winked at me in response, sending my insides flipping.

“You know why we’re here, folks,” Dante announced once we were at the front of the crowd.

I looked down to see the excited, smiling faces of the old ladies. Some of them gave me a thumbs up, others just smiled, their arms wrapped around their men, and the rest hollered and cheered.

“This has been a long time coming—those of you who have been with us for a while know this better than most,” Dante continued. “But, as they say, it’s better late than never, and I’ll give the floor over to our vice…”

The crowd erupted in cheers before quieting down into a shocked silence.

“Oh, fuck off!” Vienna hissed back. “I shaved. Big fucking deal.”

“Sort of is a big deal, mate. You look—”

“I wouldn’t finish that, Sunshine. He’s very sensitive,” Rachel said.

“Shut up, you set of bastards,” Dante yelled over them all. “Let him have his moment.”

“I don’t want it anymore.”

“Fuck me, get on with it you gigantic toddler,” Rachel shouted.

“Excuse me, love, I don’t remember interrupting you this much during your old lady ceremony.”

“I beg your finest fucking pardon,” Rachel spluttered. “You made yourself centre stage, as per usual.”
