“Freckles, I wouldn’t hurt you in fifty years, because, whether you are aware or not, I want to claim you. In club terms, that means everything, it means the brothers will see you as my wife essentially,” I admit lowly, and I watch as her throat bobs, her pulse in her neck.
“That’s quite um…” Her words trail off, and I finish, “Scary?”
She nods, and I agree, “It is,” before I admit, “I would never intentionally hurt you, but I, I know you feel this as well.”
“I work most days,” she whispers after a few minutes, and I swear my heart skips a fucking beat.
“Okay, then it looks like I’ll be spending my evenings with you at work,” I murmur, not giving a fuck if it pisses my dad off and she blushes again.
For that look alone, Dad can give my role away for all I care at this point because fuck, years I’ve been at his beck and call, and now, I want something for myself. Her eyes soften as I gently move a piece of soft hair behind her ear and she looks at me like I’m all she can see, I know she’ll be my forever.
All I want is her.
Chapter 2
Alexiana – Age Eighteen – A Year Later
I breathe heavy as I run out of the trailer, trying to ignore the way my head is throbbing, my dad shouts, “Alexiana, get your fucking ass back in here right now!” following me but I ignore the jackass and I climb in my car before speeding out of my spot. Just in time to see the man, whose arms are now full of track marks runs after me, Mom hot on his heals, her lip all busted from trying to intervene.
The asshole showed up last night, apparently on the wanted list after his mistress was found dead and instead of telling him where to go, Mom opened the door willingly for him. She made us accomplices in whatever crimes trouble he has gotten himself into, too stupid to realize that as soon as he gets his leader to clear his name, he will be gone again.
Apparently, a woman who is married to a police officer has managed to clear most of the charges against his messed-up group. Her husband is none the wiser, or so that is what I heard last night after I barricaded my bedroom door, refusing to have any contact with the man. I just wish he had passed out when I went to leave for school this morning, but unfortunately, Mom let slip that I have some savings for a rainy day. He wanted that money, and when I refused, he bashed my head with a metal tray Mom likes to use for when she entertains.
Mom tried to stop him, giving me a chance to run, and I know one thing, I won’t be back tonight or at all until he’s gone.

I pull up at the school ten minutes later, and I squeeze the steering wheel as I eye the doors, trying to think of any reason as to why I would have a massive bruise on my brow, but nothing is coming to me, and I drop my head.
A whole year and I have fallen madly deeply in love with Hayes, my hot-headed boyfriend, who is now known as Crusher. Its his road name because he managed to crush a guy's skull three months after we started dating. I know I should have run, but to be fair, the guy tried to attack me out of nowhere after I left the library and Clark’s brother Benny, who is new to the force, managed to hide what he did claiming he was jumped.
The guy is basically in a comatose state at the mental facility in Ohio, and several girls in school, including two female faculty members, had come forward claiming he attacked them.
“Get off!” I scream as I slam my head back, hitting the guy's nose, and he grunts before suddenly he slams my head into the wall, and I cry out in shock as my head throbs.
I was walking out of the gym when a hand came out of nowhere, shoved me into the concrete wall, and tried to get into my jeans, and it doesn’t matter what I do, I can’t dislodge him, making my fear build.
“I’ve seen you walking around like a stuck-up bitch, I think you need being brought down a peg or two,” he groans against me ear and I buck, trying to dislodge him as I scream loudly which just makes him chuckle before a roar echoes around us. Suddenly the guy’s weight is lifted off me and I turn around. I am ready to run but I freeze as I watch the guy that had spent two months trying to get me to accept a date, then spent the last three months making me feel like the only girl he sees, slamming his football cleat onto my attackers head.
As much as I know Hayes will defend me, I can’t risk him with whoever is their traitor in the club. I haven’t exactly seen him from the front, only heard from behind my door, the grunts of pleasure with my father like last night, while Mom was passed out… gag.
Taking a deep breath, I look in the mirror one last time, and I wince, knowing no amount of makeup will cover it up and would most likely raise Hayes’s suspicions and Lincs, who should be here to pick up his diploma.
I barely ever wear makeup.
Shaking my head, I grab my bag before I climb out of my car and walk across the parking lot. I ignore Roxy, the ex-head cheerleader who flunked out, glaring my way and head inside the school into the packed hallway, last year's seniors all here.
To be honest, I’m not even sure why she’s here unless she hasn’t told her parents yet that she flunked and that she apparently has gotten a job at Angel’s Strip, the MC's strip club.
I hear her mutter, “Whore,” from behind me, and I roll my eyes because everyone in school knows she’s the actual whore. I walk towards where the MC usually hangs out, knowing Hayes will come search for me otherwise, and I ignore her and her jealousy.
Apparently, Hayes slept with her months before even putting eyes on me, and he was very upfront about it, just like I was upfront that the guy I slept with and gave my virginity to slept with my mom right after. He knows partly why I’m closed off and will need time, and he has given me that time.
A year and not once has he pressured me into bed, instead, he’s been understanding and extremely sweet.
I’m in love with him, and honestly, I think I am ready.
I smile when I see the man himself leaning up against the lockers and move his way as his eyes instantly come to me.
