Ascream tangles in my throat when a portal appears in front of me and Dread steps through it, onto the coffee table.

Volik is already on his feet. “What are you⁠—”

“You need to come with me.” Dread ignores the growl filling the room and reaches for Volik. “Now.”

I don’t know what the druid needs him for, but for Dread to do this…

I push at Volik’s hip. “Go.”

He looks at me.

“All might be fine. But…” Dread doesn’t finish.

I hold Volik’s gaze. “Go.”

Ifollow Dread through the portal. And I see them.

I move to Vameer and Rune.
